  1. I finally drove to Woodcraft to pick up some Pegas Modified Geometry blades. I tested them out on a couple of cuts on poplar. OMG! These are faster (more aggressive) than other blades. I am cutting a stand-up puzzle of 3/4" and it cuts very well. It's fast, just a little more patience is needed for control. It cuts very clean, both top and bottom. I don't know about the durability yet, but so far I love them. I was using a FD-UR5. The Pegas #3 Modified Geometry is just 0.01" thinner but it feels very nice and the kerf still works for these puzzles. For all who recommended them, A BIG THANK YOU!
  2. I love both! Moose are one of my favorite animals.
  3. I see a magazine article in the future. Neat idea!
  4. I love them!ill have to make one for my wife.
  5. Very nice! I love the cedar boxes.
  6. After I started a dispute through PayPal for goods not received, the company said they were lost in the mail. That same day they said the will ship the order again that same day. After 10 days of waiting I told them I want to cancel my order. The next day they sent out a mass email saying they are having trouble getting the blades from the manufacturer. This is after they said my blades had shipped a second time. I'm glad some of you have had luck with this company but they will never receive my business as I feel they are giving me "the business".
  7. Hey Don, I decided to try Danish oil on poplar and found that the Danish oil takes significantly longer to dry than 50/50 BLO/mineral spirits. I thought it would be the other way around. I did read a bit and found that both Danish oil and BLO are made from flaxseed but have different additives. They both polymerize to create a hard finish.
  8. Dude, I hope you sell out. I don't know what the table costs at a fair of that size but if one percent of the crowd buys a puzzle you will need and armored car to take you home. Now, stop chatting and get to work.
  9. That came out great Paul. Great selection of wood, too.
  10. Wow! Outstanding work.
  11. Very well done. Patience always pays off.

    Cat Box

The box is fantastic. I'm sorry to hear about your father. I hope he is better soon. We miss him on this forum.
  13. I've seen a lot of super bowls here in the forum. I know Carol Rothman makes a lot of super bowls. But I can't see why anyone would just want to watch them.
  14. I like the idea. Great looking banner.
  15. I agree with the paint idea. Since most napkins are white I suggest a rich, contrasting color.
  16. I find most of my blade break problems are on the bottom. I don't break many though. My guess is excessive heat. It could also be tension or technique.
  17. John summed it up pretty well. I suggest taking some pieces of cherry (maybe 1" x 4") and testing various finishes mentioned here. When you find the look you want you have your answer. I would also suggest some things but they have been mentioned.
  18. Beautiful work and words.
  19. Amen, Jerry.
  20. Yes I get the email too. They have some neat videos but I can get most of the tips and info from YouTube. They must have bought my email address from someone I did business with.
  21. I'll be ordering from them soon. Thanks for the info.
  22. That came out beautiful Edward!
  23. Thanks Paul. This is a little off subject but I ordered a cover for my tablet. When I got it it would not fit. I sent an email and they replied within 12 hours. Long story short, I ordered the wrong one but they still let me return it and shipped the correct one right away. I left high praise for their customer service and would do business with them again.

    Call Sign

Thanks Jim. It's my dad's old call sign. I plan to have me General by the end of June.
  25. I tried calling this morning and got an answering service asking for an extension to leave a message. As there website provides no extention I could leave no comment. I'll contact PayPal next.
