  1. Excellent work!
  2. Are you looking to make jigsaw puzzles? A lot of folks that make them get images from calendars to make puzzles. If you find Star War calendars that is one route to could go. Other things that that are popular are sports and truck for boys.
  3. What is the name of that font? I really like it and may also want to use it. Thanks.
  4. Ah, yes, I get it now. You can do it easily in Inkscape. If your letter is a font that Inkscape can recognize, and it is installed on your computer, then just type the letter and adjust the size. Next, draw a rectangle the right size to cut the letter and position it where you want it. Then select the rectangle and the letter. Next, use the menu Path and select Difference and the letter should be cut in half. Then just add any additional lines and the word/name you want to add and you are pretty much done. It looks like Dick has given you an example.
  5. Freaky pattern. But I kinda like freaky. A gray (as in gray matter) background would be perfect.
  6. Sam, I'm not sure what you are asking. It looks like the letter is already split. Are you trying to create something to cut in fretwork? If so, yes, you can do it in Inkscape but it will take a bit of work. It's really cool font.
  7. Great cutting and pattern! Just the right amount of detail.
  8. Choose your favorite! # 1 # 2 # 3 #4
  9. I had to ask Travis for a little help getting the poll set up. I hope to have it up later today. Thanks for your patience.

You are right on the money with your comment. I had thought about that and decided to offer her a cleaning service at a modest rate. OK, just kidding. What I actually thought about was filling in the dimples with epoxy but first I want to see her reaction and feedback.
  11. Hey, I love it! I'll add that to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Just finished a few more things. These have two small neodymium (permanent) magnets sandwiched between the outer layers. Fun and easy to make. I hope they sell. Thanks for looking.
  13. I like it. I may also try Gonzo's idea with the cardboard under it.

Thanks. I did a Google image search and found an image I liked and was able to create a pattern. I cut it out of 1/4" plywood. Then, I glued it to 1/2" ply and cut the outside shape. Since I was priming and painting g I didn't worry as much about glue squeezing out but there was very little to clean up.
  15. I just got their catalog. It sure makes me want to buy. I guess I'll make a wish list.
  16. Don, show us a picture of your shrink-wrapped puzzle. That sounds like a good idea.
  17. The hugs are neat and the reindeer are adorable. Great job!

Excellent! The cuts are so clean and crisp.
  19. Looks great.
  20. Well, after months of deciding how to do the background, I think it came out good. A lady I met at a craft show about 6 years ago and she recently asked me to make this for her front door. It's 18" in diameter all plywood. I still have some touching up to do. I did two layers on the ball, the back is 1/2" ply and the front is 1/4". The bag is 3 layers of 1/4" ply. At first she didn't want the background to be white, then when I told her I could make it look like a golf ball she changed her mind. I think she will like the color combination. Thanks for looking. Edited for clarification.
  21. I've used Krylon Triple Thick Glaze. One coat puts a decent coating and doesn't discolor the ink. Some folks use Modge Podge but I don't think it's as durable. Others will chime in soon.
  22. Love the shape! Very unique. I'd call it a fatty instead of a slimline. Hehe. Looks like it had too much cheese.
  23. Welcome to the Village Frank. Your work is great.
  24. Find a nice glass tray and make a wood bowl to fit around it. If just the asked go in the bowl I would think they wouldn't be hot enough to ignite the wood. Smoke a pack of cigs and lay them on a board to see what happens. You could just make a bowl and give it to him with a fire extinguisher.
  25. Outstanding Kevin!! All are so neatly cut.
