  1. Welcome aboard. Visited your site and can definitely see the influence of Jeff on your work. Had the opportunity to meet him several years ago and have always been impressed with what he can do.
  2. Very nice work and I am really liking colored backing. A cheap emery board can be trimmed to help with removing fuzzies.
  3. I have a lifter somewhere that I thought I just had to have. After several years, I've never found a need for it as I really like top feeding.
  4. Welcome from a neighbor in MO.
  5. Really like the design. Surely can't imagine having 7 of them, though.

    A few trivets

Very nice work. I am just jealous as haven't been able to be in the shop for some time. My Mother had a light stroke and as her care giver, it has kept me hopping. I also had a really bad reaction to a sulfa drug so am doing good to just keep moving.
  7. Nice cutting. I usually use a matte finish on the back and more of a gloss on the front. That may be because I got a deal on some matte finish and I don't care for it on the front.
  8. I don't usually sign but have had people ask for it to be signed. I used to do dated ornaments for friends and family rather than cards and that was popular as a lot of people buy a dated ornament every year.
  9. Not much to add as you've gotten some great advice. That thick ply will really heat up a blade especially if it is somewhat dull and you are forcing it. Good job on a first piece.
  10. Great job.

    Lamp

    Great adaptation and finished product.
  12. That looks like a deal that should be snapped up.
  13. Naval jelly will remove the rust, then coat with Johnson's paste wax. I use the wax and my saw is in a noncooled or heated shop and I have no problem.
  14. Looking good. They can become addictive. I was on a roll once and every one I know wound up with a trivet so didn't have any other outlets.
  15. Great job. I really like the wood choices.
  16. Well done.
  17. Very nicely done Marg. The wood is great. We have sassafras but it doesn't look like that.
  18. That was quite a burst of energy. They all look great. My burst this am only got me as far as the coffee pot and computer.
  19. Best wishes on the show. I really like the lab.
  20. You could also create an orange wash with a mix of orange acrylic paint and water. Thinned down it would add color but still show the wood grain.
  21. Beautiful work and sure to be appreciated.
  22. Very nice job and should be a great addition to a show booth.
  23. That is great but makes my eyes hurt to think of cutting it.
  24. Instead of a wood backer, I use colored felt which doesn't increase the thickness and just a little glue will hold it in place. Of course, you want to finish before applying the felt.
  25. Amazing and a great pattern.
