I have traditionally used black as a backer but have been finding that red or bright blue work also. Don't care so much for green or yellow.

Very nicely done and really like the blue.

I have done that for quilting patterns and found that if I put masking tape on the cut lines it worked better without gluing itself back.

Hate to hear that but with the new procedures at least there is a remedy. Just take it slow and follow the Dr's orders. The therapy should get you going again.

I have been using the nailless sawtooth hangers on thicker wood and the 1/4" ones had a glued gold cord between the sign and the backing (felt).

If the price is right, I don't think you can miss. They are an American made saw of the highest quality. I have seen a later model of that saw recently for $500.

Nice cutting. I never saw a hummer flying upside down before. I have found that a colored background is very popular. I usually just spray paint the backing.

I have been doing trivet for years and finish by dipping in mineral oil, then remove and let drip dry (I place them on something that will let them drip). After they dry (couple of days), I buff them with a brown paper bag to get a little sheen. Have one on my table that has been used for over 10 yrs without a problem. It has been my experience that really nice ones usually wind up on the wall rather than the table even though I tell them that they are to be used.

My to do list is getting longer than I can probably achieve since this cold weather doesn't allow me to be in the shop. I keep finding patterns and ideas that I want to try. Sounds like maybe it will warm up enough next week that I can get to the shop. My problem is not enough time between taking care of my 96 yr old mother and not being able to spend long hrs in the shop myself, it is difficult to get a lot accomplished.

I think I must be operating a printer graveyard. I have an old HP2100 laser that I have used for years but wanted color capability and scanning so bought a small all-in-one that worked fine until it ran out of ink. Found a deal on line for a Canon for $29 with free shipping so bought that. When I needed new ink, they were $50 so it went to the scrap pile and found a deal on an HP 7640 that is wireless and works great. They have a deal where for $2.99 a month, they will send you new ink whenever you print so many copies. Haven't tried that as don't think it would turn out cost effective for the amount of copies I do. The final insult was after getting Windows 10 and one of their updates, my old laser is no longer recognized and when I tried to get an updated driver, they don't recognize anything over 10 yrs old.

I just got an HP ENVOY 7640 for about $78 with free shipping that is wireless and scans, copies and prints up to 11x17. So far it is working great. HP also has a plan to keep ink stocked for $2.99 per month. I think they send it whenever you have printed a certain amount of copies.
