  18. I've tryed a few magnifing lights but they have a sweet spot and unless your looking right into that part of thee lens your eyes strain .I find 2 pair of glasses gives me exactly what i want much better .i like 400 power .i wear 150 power and add a 350 on top of my glasses and am good to go.
  19. Here's a pattern from scrollriffic i've had that i found today.it's cut from 11/4"aromatic cedar with a scrollreverse 5 blade from mikes workshop.com It's less than 9" tall and then there's my friend on the saw i gave him last year for free,i started him out on a harbor freight saw so he was blown away when he got this one.Is mom got a trunck full of my scroll work as she said she'd love to paint and sell this sort of thing(religous)Been over a year and she did'nt do anything with them all.she's struggleing like the rest of us and to busy trying to make ends meet But she said don't worry it will all come together .She studying to be something religous i forgot just what but she'll be sertified when through soon.
  20. I'm slow getting back into the swing of things .i used to tell the cut time ,blades used ,pattern maker and anything else i could say to help folks know what i did..life is not what it was ,but i try.Marge i havent got any requests for the palms letters .i did ove 800 of them in 5 years as to make a good impression to get work as no one was calling for work since the reccesson. Each letter took 45 minutes to do start to finish. So a name took half a day or more to do.Only two people gave me work out of 800.but i tryed.I enjoyed seeing the look on therir face when i delieverd it all for free .Nick scrolling letters is so much fun, someday i'll get good at it!Wolf they go slow as the cedar is tough but an hour or two is about the time it takes.i'll make sure i start to itemize all the work done so everyone will know whats what.i feel good telling all so they get an idea of whats what! lolMahendra i would like to know how you do your word art.I'm slow on reading instructions and understanding what i read unless it's the funny pages.loltonight i deliever the as for me and my home at the mens meeting at the church.this group is way over my head but it's interesting what they say.these men are like theological people Im stuck without a job for so long ,years ...............and gods been taking care of me .the least i can do is but a smile on all i meets face with free scroll art.Seldom do i see a dollar from it but i'm staying out of the parks and keeping my mind occcupyed and away from the tube too.Scrolling makes me a happy camper.Im blue till the blade hits the wood then it's all down hill from there.
  21. Here's Mahendras pattern cut. and then there's a couple of things i did today .At 2:00p.m. the heat down here in fla was unbearable.i'm in the shade and my fan was roaring heat like a heater so i had to stop scrolling
  22. the crown was from scrollers cafe by gayle..i was having trouble down loading yesterday to, the village.i'll try again tonight on wifi.thanks for the kind words !
  23. Hah! Just you wait ,tell me all the fun you've had in 2 years.Welcome to ssv!.The fun scrolling never stops!I scroll to scroll lol.this is the most relaxing thing i've ever done, and going on 8 years strong.you can't go wrong here in the club so grab a cup of coffee and make some new friends. If ever you need some pointers just ask away in the correct forums and help will be there shortly.tell us more about your buddy ,is she new ,used.you'll love getting a foot pedal and more light on the saw for starters.a comfy chair and a fan with a filter on it.angle up the back of the saw so you can see where your cutting easyer to.were glad to have you here ENJOY!
  24. I remember those days when i had the same problems..Trust me it's some thing simple thats causing this problem for you.i used to put the blades in upside down not knowing anything about scroll saws.this causes plenty of steering problems.the teeth allways need to face downward..Yes tension is a good reason for the blade to wander around on you so tighten it up like a high e string on a guitar.Don't touch the ends of the blades as oil on your skin will cause it to lose tension and then the blade will wander right away as soon as you turn on the machine. It can be tight as a drum but when you start the motor it slips immedietly even on the dewalt 788 when i forget not to touch the ends.Everything comes in it's own time.We should be able to set you straight with this problem as more people chime in on there thoughts to fix your problem.not being there all we can do is suggest many reasons that will cause the problem.Hang in there .Were her to help you all we can.I've learned everything i know here in the village.Glad to have you as a member and soon you'll be on the other side setting people straight with therir problems too. Were a fun helpfull bunch here so Grab a cup of coffee and watch all the answers fly in to help you .you will be amazed!
  25. My but there's alot of pieces there.I know full well what you've gone thru to come finished master piece.it's better than it has to be and you've done an excellant job puting it all together.Im sure you don't want to part with it after all the work that was involved.i'll bet the dog even recognizes who it is,lol.Intarsia must be second nature to you and i'm proud of your work.Definetly a show piece and show winner in my bookI'd love to see the workings of your shop you have.I sell my intarsias at five dollars a piece.Great job sir
