  3. Hello Steve, welcome! I'd love to know which machine your useing.Sorry for the trouble your having.Where there's a will there's a way.There's more than one way to skin a cat and im sure you'll find a way with that saw.Flyingdutchman has mettal cutting blades and i have every blade he sellsas well.Cutting metal requires slow speed and on turns the friction is high along with the heat build up and thats where the blade wants to break the most.I've cut sheet stainless no problem .just slow feeding and as slow as it will go speed.Not sure what perspex is.I would try something besides mdf as the dust is very harmfull to breath.give us more info as to what blade your useing ,saw,thickness of mdf etc.

Very strong solid construction!I'd like the single leg in front on mine though.Hope yours elevates in the back to save your back from stooping.My dw788 is a foot higher in the back than the front.great job and should never need any mdification for years to come.Thanks for the quick show and tell!
  6. Thats not how us southerners do it ,lolJust kidding .whoah these tips and tricks just keep coming!My plywood project today got cut and before it rained ,working out side ,i tryed to piece it all back together,no go from the humidity.Should have read this forum first.
  7. Yes sir Rex i agree that any scroll saw will get you there! It's going to be time well spent on the first saws and then upgrade to better.Keep that ol' saw for a back up,even the new one break!I've learned everything i know from scroll saw village!Lots of friendly helpful folks here that have been there done that and are very wiolling to share all they know to make scrolling easy for you and not waste your time figureing thinks out.Have fun and make some friends,be sure and ask lots of questions in the forums!open your own gallery too!To save pictures projects and send private messages to members here!thanks for joining!

Hi mimi, i've been formulating a poem about the infamous spirals i weant to post when completed.Tough to learn to use but tips and tricks from ssv made it a breeze to use them.keep the spirals very taunt ,no flex and go slow,piece of cake to use now.i did a 4 foot long straight line,many times on the john 3:16 verse im going to post soon.
  13. Hi Jeff ,The #3an #5 blades are great ones to use.Slow down your machine to get good control and press down when scrolling to have full control of where your saw is going to cut.Scrolling is so much fun to do.Glad you found us and happy scrolling!
