  13. I just finished a john 3:16 thats 36" x 12" with a spiral blade.Done in white pine. The longest runs came out very straight as i used two fingers as a fence guide and just slid along slowly .I sure love useing spirals.Again today i needed to make a sign 36" x 8" and the spirals made short work out of it!I cut the letters and raised them 1/4" and a drop or two of glue on the reverse side held them firmly.the words were siciliean oven with flames. the wood was 3/4" plywood mahogany vernier covered. The blade used was a left over one (spiral) sent to me from xray last year. The dw788 i got for xmas has been a blessing to me.With no vibration and split arm action ,i wear out and smoke blades instead of breaking them. Many times i do that ,use used blades, to get the discolored burnt wood look on the insides of my work.Since xmas i've done hundreds of projects and wish i could upload to my gallery for all to see.I'm on the librarys computer as i don't have internet accest anymore on my computer.Good thing i downloaded all i could from the village and steve goods site to keep me going for quite a while.Sales are very slow but come in at the last minute usually whe i need it the worst.I'm so gratefull to the trade i learned for the village thats sustaining me thru the recession.
  14. Lately i've been cutting alot of formica covered 3/4" plywood on one side as the finished product looks oh so nice.I use flying dutchmans scroll reverse blades, course or fine depending on detail needed with no chipping .
  15. DW i see your at it again!Beautyfull job ,batteries included!Very nice keepsake for someone special!Impressive work!Thank you!
  16. really nice job on all you've shown us here. The pens are very unique!your very good on the details! Are you still doing work for the radio station you did a while back and how about the hillbilly yard sale, craft shows?I like keeping up with your new project to see where you at these days.Hows that truck doin?
  17. Hi Gary ,i cut a piece of broken bandsaw blade and was very leary to get too close to it.Wish i had you red zone warning then.Allmost got me.The forum is a great hot spot to learn so much from.I to like the way hard wood cuts.Flyingdutchmans blades really make short work on 1 inch oak chair seats.the cut like butter with his scroll reverse blades.how about wooden bear for a handle?
  18. I've allways though about when i look at magazines is that i start from the back and work to the front. Now scrolling i do the same thing .I start at the last letter and work towards the first in a non -clockwise direction. How about you?
  19. beautyful work mr. marshall.letters and my fortay now the past year or so.They intrege me with the detail thats acheived cutting them and your are picture perfect.Great job on your cuttings .your one of the best!

  22. Pg fish, thanks for the picture of my dream car!Looks great and i can feel the thrills of it all.Nice work on cutting it out, made my day.
  23. Beautifly done and oh so sweet ,soft looking pattern!I'd be pround as a peacock to design a well as this!Keep up the great work!
  24. Hello chippygeoff!Very interesting list of tools you have.I'm working bout of a car trunck and cut down on a lot of things you have.I use scroll reverse blades to not need a sander ,a fan and scroll outdoors to avoid the dust and dust collectors and face masks.I try to get wood small enough to fit the scroll saw with out cutting down to size with a table saw.i use a battery drill instead of a drill press as space for tools in a ford focus is small.I've made a rolling storeage table ,scrolling table to keep on the side of my friends car repair shop out of the rain.I still have all the good tools ,planer, sanders etc in a small warehouse but work around them as the price of gas to mget them is high.Thats my 2 cents worth!
  25. Warm greetings and a great big hello!Your going to have more fun than a barrel of monkeys here! There's allways something to do or some one to help in scrolling adventures. We can use your help paterning for our members greatly. i've been a member maybe4 years and have no time tolearn to pattern .There are so many doors and windows here in the viillage to exolore .I encourage youto spend some time getting to know all the crooks and crannies we have availiable to everyone here.Glad you can helpout with the young ones in your area. This is a very rewardable hobby for all.
