Steve ,this is impressive! I like to see projects that make you think about it ,or dream a little when seeing it.Hopeing to see some baby birds soon is a nice thought.Even though it's pretend.The light's on someones home (birds).All sorts of thoughts come to mind.It's allmost an action project.wrong words but it's like a cut out of a bird but put a worm in it's mouth that's a twist for the better.Here's a nest ,but put eggs in it that's a twist .Etc.Great idea that inspires us ,thank you for time well spent.Very interesting .

Dreams come to those that wait.I have a similar project with a company that may come thru.it's in the air now .The secretary at the church seen my work and told me about a company that sells small wood pieces and has no one to cut them.time will tell .Good luck Mark,Were all looking for that nest egg! -

Andy mines been in the house 4 years in the dining room we never use,but lately it's dismantled as i 'm contemplating moving out.We broke up.

AAh! Now your talking my language!Spirals!Make them over tight ,and your rate of speed cutting in all directions would be about half or less than when useing a straight blade.The benefits of useing spirals are vast.Their getting used to cutting with them is like useing a toy called" etch a sketch"where your useing two knobs to draw a picture on a slate.I too could have never been convinced that spirals were the cadillac of blades till i heard about the proper use of them from a member.The blade must be extra tight .When it's loose it bends like a rubber band and breaks and you have no control following a line.Straight line cuts are even slower as the blade wants to follow any devient in grain of wood direction.Practice makes perfect.Practice with a thick spiral to get a good feel of it's caracteristics.

Your work in this Marine project looks like you were an authorized UNITED STATES OF AMERICA armed service's lil ol plaque maker from georgia! I'm sure you could load up the walls in town with your comemerative plaques.Once the recruiting stations ,vfw halls ,veterans hospitals, etc get wind of your tallants you'll be making headlines again and again honoring the military.If there's a will there's a way at CJSWOODCRAFTS!

your exacly right andy. It had to go up 5/8".That's alot .maybe dewalt put the wrong part on this machine?

Here's some pictures of my dw788 blade problem too.type 1.here's some more pictures with the problem repaired. I raised the back of the table as i could'nt lower the front 5/8" so i raised the back 5/8" and now the blade is square to the table either with the blade up or down .I'm a happy camper now!

Hello Mark. we've had one scroller that roams around in his motor home and scrolls on the side of the road ,in camp grounds and such and tells us he buys things from the dollar store ,clocks ,etc and incorporates them in his scroll work enough too donate 4000 dollars worth of his sold projects to a good cause .Wish i had the posts to refer you to so you could pm him for more answers your looking for.Maybe one of the scrollers remembers his name and you could look him up in the members list.i do good tradeing work but getting the almighty dollar is a tough one !

There must be a Gold mine of wood up there in georgia!Imagine that useing pecan wood for a project.I've never even seen pecan wood!This one sure looks beautyful and polished too!Boy if the detailed artison scroll work don't get the sale the high quality wood will.You've got to be due to be wrote up in the newspaper soon again!Your the master of putting smiles on peoples faces with your work Jim.I know ,i know Connie helped!

Hi joanne,not being a dw788 repairman ,,but if that were my problem with it i would down load from "toolpartsdirect.com"the schematic of parts listed for your machine and take off part number"91".that will let your table drop down some and alieveate some of the problem. I don't want to give you unsafe advice but if it was mine thats what i would do.someone else will chime in with a better suggestion than mine for you though.thanks for asking.

Welcome Dacota! I have good news for you!.You only have 52 more years to work before you can retire! ,lol Ok ,Ok Your starting off right with this fascinating hobbie and your going to amaze your friends with your new found tallent! I find most of my wood from used thrown away furniture and there's some great hard wood finds to be had this way.You can search way back months and months in the forums topic by clicking on the differant page numbers on the bottom right corner of each page in the forum.Your projects you've are ready completed are fabulous.These are patterns i've never seen before and are great ones.You have all it takes to turn out beautyfull work i see .Your cutting skills are top notch!Your going to be a leader around here shortly at that rate.Thanks for posting and will look forward to some more of your outstanding works!Welcome my friend!

Yes Mike,free hand .some is wet on wet to acheive the blended sky look.the frons are done with a 0 brush with diluted enough to get a thin line and still have pigment left in the paint.The ocean is wet on wet blended from dark to light,and the sand is wet on wet also. Each beach scene i've done is a differant style differant this and that trying to find the best way which i have'nt found yet to get it right!Some never are done wet on wet ,some partial ,some all .I just go with the flow!But when the triple thick clear go's on the scene jump out at you and looks like a photograph.Lot's of people ask me where did i get the picture from that i glued on the wood!I'm well over 800 names so far and still am not pleased with the results! But the people love them .When i see them years later i ask do you still have your name .They all say yes and i look at it everyday on my t.v. or dresser.! Thanks for looking!
