  8. You will have to reach back very time to adjust the tension which is time consuming .This saw has no lubrication points for the connecting arms in the back of the saw . That's where they wear out first. If your going to be a weekend warrior scrolling you'll be ok !
  9. Thank you ROB ROY!lol
  10. Thanks BOB, I'm working on my dust collection for the saw.My lungs have been hurting so maybe it's dust????I run 3 fans and i'm outside ,but maybe????What's holding me up is silencing up my vacuum cleaner for the neighbors.I thing just put the cleaner in a wood box inside another wood box with baffles like a car muffler???Then i can really go to town scrolling!

  16. You did great cutting the thin soft wood.Stop in often for daily tip's an tricks freely given! Thanks for joining friend!
  17. It all depends on what your cutting to make the machines last.I cut 3/4" plywood years with low priced Chinese saws ,they lasted because in ran at very slow speeds so the adjoining apartments couldn't hear the saw .cutting hard woods will destroy a scroll saw quick.Running the machines wide open is detrimental too.Good luck finding something .I have back up saws a plenty as down time is not happy time! I''m very happy with dw788's I do repairs myself but don't like to work on the dw788 it's like a watch!
