I use the stands that come with the saw .But raise the back of the saw 1 foot taller than the front for ease of seeing what im doing and it keeps my back straight for less back pains.

At the moment (ATM)you joined ,your on a roll to happiness for ever more.Quality time is scrolling time in what ever you chose to scroll. My biggest interest also was portraits and i've done my share of them. I never learned to pattern them though.Your off to a great start in your wood working knowledge updates finding us.Glad to have you and i'm sure we can learn from you too.Keep coming back often as there's plenty of free info daily here,Welcome!

20" box fans around your saw and i think you'd be ok not wearing a mask ,but some may disagree .On the dust mask get one with a valve in it for easy exhales.I've found my magnifiers ,try thrift stores,I'm able to just buy over the counter glasses from 100 power to 450 power which is what i like to scroll with.
