  1. I'm the formica fan ,no more rust ,cleans right up ,stays friction proof and i wouldn't be without it on my dw788.I spray glued mine and but white Formica on it been there well over a year ,no problems
  2. I can hear the people touching the horse project with their eyes, looking with their fingers, ooh's and aah's.It is one incredibly creative project to see.Bring a box to put all the ribbons you'll be getting.Thats a job i'd like is to hand out the ribbons,Where is this craft show ,i'll give you all of them!
  3. I just remembered one time my old dw788 type 1 knocked anything above 5 on the speed. It ended up being a nut on the connecting rod that comes off the motor. It goes on the side of the connecting rod you cant see. When you find it you'll need to put loc tite on the threads to stop that from happening again. After i repaired that it ran wide open quiet and smooth as a kitten. There's only a few things that cause a knocking sound so google exactly what you want to know and it will come up.I drilled a hole oposite where the nut goes for ease off replaceing it.About a 1" hole to where i could look in see where it goes add loc tite and install the nut. the saw comes apart easy but tedious, and time consuming to go back together.
  4. Thanks for the star BOB, you shouldn't have!
  5. got some thing done ,delieved some, cut some made new friends and flirted with a lot.Boy they made me feel good! They had my complete attention! The square wood block hold stone eggs, perfectly.they are 3/4" paper coverd fiber board?Cut with a #9 scroll reverse, then belt sanded rounded the edges and corners and the lady will paint them and add jewels to them.See sells a lot of eggs.with or without the stands .She's been unable to get stands till me,!!! I threw in the love project so she gets something free everytime to sweeten the deal . 5 -10 minutes at the most to cut each of those, no biggie on my part. She sells so maybe I'll get orders coming in .Ot better to try and fail than not try at all.My wood work will add to the attractiveness in her store which is so so right now. She's been there a while so I should work out! There's a couple of public girls' names I delivered these girls made my day plus others there were just about crawling on me to get their name cut too..Another day another half a dollar, lol the" God bless my car" is for the lady that took me to hooters for wings saturday ,She's getting orders at her church She just bought a new toyota and wants this on her dash!
  6. Nol worrys about her anymore ROLY,Years ago that relationship ,customer ,handyman died. Seems when it was time for me to get paid, every time, i was getting minimum wage. I let it go a few times and cut the relationship to zero. ha :rofl:ha ha.That was back in 2006!
  7. Thank you Bobby Good news is great to hear!
  8. There's two publications that come to mind with those type of faces ,"wooden teddy bear" and "scrollers ""but i've not seen them .Maybe in much older publications about them???
  9. Hey Smitty ,i was looking in Walmart for food coloring and they have big bottles of food coloring 13 colors all for $45.00 I think they are the pint size ,i forgot to look ,but first chance i get i want to color projects with a q-tip ,fret work to start.Sue Mey project will be outstanding done this way if it works .Might be something your looking into doing. They had all colors but were out of pink? a holiday thing?Soak your projects in some thined down ,really thin varnish or clear to act as a sealer , for better one coat coverage and less fuss.set them on thumb tacks to dry. I've not tryed this but sounds like a winner .test it out!
  10. Mines have been doing that for over a year, but only over the #5 on the speed control .So I leave it at 5, no biggie. Then recently the bolt broke on the top arm but didn't fall out .i replaced that with a m4 -8? Bolt from the big box store, But more importantly a year ago I regretted everything with car synthetic grease and thins are still working. I need the bearing where the broken bolt is but i think it needs to be pressed out . i can't chance it and be out of a saw even though more damage is incurred with tolerances getting bigger. This will be my second dw788 for parts if need be when it dies Take the machine apart and you can grease all the bearings except two which are in the top and bottom of the arms in front that hold the blade mechanism. That was the biggest improvement and lasted a year easy of hard non stop scrolling 3/4: plywood.
