  6. I'm finding more and more uses for my planner, I've had years new and used only recently. I need to cut 2" thick x 2" x30" long strips. The new table saw cut the stuff good, but there was no speed in pushing it thru. And it would not stay next to the fence ,so it's slightly ,but acceptably straight . I tried waving the torch over the plastic and it did a beautiful job making the cuts clear again .But there are gouges from straightening out the cuts. What i'd like to do is run it thru the planner if it's safe. I've not run across anyone saying they have planned plastic or Lexan or acrylic in one Help help!
  7. Throw it out there what you time is worth, travel time included.Give a ball park high price and go down from there if need be.He's willing to pay, your willing to get your price.I had a similar offer to make do it your self planter boxes .The guy has no experience i n wood working and wanted everything to be numbered so he could put it together him self. The time and making it fool proof was way beyond my patience. i passed that one up.?There was a lot of angled planter boxes to prefab too. :shock:It's the man not the boy that's wants you to show him how to do this ,yes?

  18. DW, i'd love to see your version of a cornucopia!!!
  19. Ron, you will never know what your missing. Best part is, even if it doesn't get sold, you yourself get to admire the beauty of it on your wall.I hated to part with mine but someone wanted to trade their dw788 for a few of my (practice pieces) .After 6 years of Chinese saw I was ready to try the infamous dw788. .Best choice in saws i ever made.Just think where i would have been had I had one sooner. but I loved every minute of the Chinese saw.
  20. Thanks DW i'd like to see you really try an intarsia .You will love it! Try something very small in pieces.,not size

  23. Met a man on craigs list selling a jig saw for 15 bucks. It made by weller ,same as the weller soldering gun.Very old and looks to be used a couple of times. We got]to talking and he doesn't need the money and wants to give it to me for free .So i made a couple of things for him for the heck of it.He is a ship carpenter and belongs to a few wood organizations here in town and can help me along with my wood cutting job getting. He even lives down the street ,small world. This could break into something good .Perfect timing too.
