  8. Made these as a wedding present for a friend. He is having a justice league themed wedding. You may have seen my round version of the superman..I have moved from that design and went with square. All are maple/walnut with cork feet and several layers of poly.
  9. Here are 2 of them I have made.. First one is 1/4" birch ply core, 2 layers of 1/8" Santos mahogany, 2 layers of 1/8" walnut...sanded to 400 grit and 3 layers of BLO...second I made for my daughter... 1/4" birch ply and 2 layers of 1/8" maple...I have access to a bunch of patterns but aren't really mine to share.. If you are interested check out http://slingshotforum.com/the guys on that forum take their slingshot building very serious and have a lot of info for people looking to build slingshots...fun way to use up scraps
  10. Exactly what I was thinking my scroll saw bench I have a horse I'm cutting for my mom, a slingshot I'm gluing up to cut later. Finishing bench I have 3 slingshots I'm coating with BLO. Over by lathe I have a Sweet gum bowl I'm final turning and some slimlines gluing up to turn later. Then my radial arm saw is covered in pieces for bird feeders/houses.

  15. Good morning everyone... Had a buddy ask if I could make some coasters for him..well I was going to cut in maple and back with walnut and then put cork feet on...would it be better to sandwich cork between the layers and just not waste my walnut as backer. Is the cork neccessary if I finish the coaster good?
  16. I have a grizzly 12" portable planer and it has been a beast. No complaints.
  17. May have to check this out on mine...lately the saw has been less than perfect...
  18. I don't have the skills required to make patterns...so I don't really have a dog in this fight. But hate to see the patterns stolen and for our pattern makers to get mad and stop posting patterns. I say do what you have to do to protect our own.
  19. May be a stupid question...but is there a way to gain membership to scroller cafe? I didn't know about it but says no new members..or is it even still a site? Thanks everyone.
  20. That looks great! How do you attatch your pattern? I've been using double sided tape.
  21. Cut 2 more this evening, slowed dewalt down to slowest speed...randomly put a drop of cutting oil on blade... Broke 2 blades on first one..none on the second...much better this time thanks again for all the great tips here!!
  22. I have seen jigs like what bonacker is talking about...I need to make one..a quarter is just a Tish smaller than an inch. So I just drilled a 1" hole in a piece of 1\8 scrap..tape on bottom and on top.. Worked fairly well. Thanks.. I will need to make some jigs. Didn't know they made bits in those sizes..good to know thank you!
  23. Yeah I feel ya there...I'm not about to start burning Benjamins...but this took that quarter from 25¢ to $25...so. Can't complain bout that. I was actually very surprised at how easy it cut...with the exception of blades breaking so much...you should give it a try Thanks Larry
  24. Like everyone else, I put my stuff on my personal and business Facebook..list things I think will do well on etsy...but most sales are word of mouth...would love to take this thing to the next level but not quite there yet
