  1. Thanks guys..will try that with the next ones...hopefully it gets better. Merlin I didn't even think about iron man blades...that is an option too.
  2. Lol..thanks Kevin. I will try to slow them down and more careful in corners...I was spinning them like I do wood.
  3. Thank you. I was surprised at how easy they cut...but the dang blades kept breaking. Ohh and so people know I was using the FD Jeweler blades.
  4. Good Evening Everyone. I hope you all had a blessed palm Sunday I took a stab at cutting my first coin today. Turned out OK but my question for everybody..I broke 6 blades while doing this..is there a trick I'm missing? Tension to high? Corners to tight? Feed to fast? Should I be using a cutting oil of sorts? Any advice would be great. Enjoy the rest of your evening. God Bless, Robert
  5. I'm with Allan..that looks great. If you could point me in the right direction of the pattern that would be great. My cousin is having a baby and they are doing tropical/beach theme nursery. Thinking instead of numbers put the kids name on it. Thank You and God Bless Robert

  10. i would probably call myself a woodworker since i can do pretty much anything when it comes to wood. im not artistic in any other way. but wood is my medium. scrolling, turning, furniture.
  11. i have been hearing a lot of people say that...and after watching youtubes i may have to break down and try them.
  12. always a learning curve with a new toy. im sure you will figure it out congrats on the new tool. i dont recognize the red paint...what brand is it?
  13. Really would be random hardwoods..whatever i can get ahold of..i turn a lot too. so would be whatever i have. and as far as scrolling...i do a bit of everything..fretwork..toys..just whatever i feel like at the time..maybe milling my own wont be worth the trouble...lol
  14. So i recently got a new bandsaw. broke down and got a 17" saw with riser and all that jazz (go big or go home right? haha) anyway..was wanting to mill some 1/4 inch stuff for scrolling. was curious if anybody here does this and how long do you let it sit to dry before planing and using it? I figure seal the ends and let it sit for a few months and should be good to go since it is so thin. thanks everbody
  15. Not a whole lot going on with my page...but here it is www.facebook.com/tindellfamilycrafts
  16. that is what i am looking at...roughly how often do you change filters?
  17. Well thats good to know...thanks Jim. i assumed any foreign material getting breathed in could cause it.
  18. I dont wear a mask for any of my woodworking...i dont smoke and last few trips to dr my O2 stats have been on par with that of a smoker. And on top of that have had a horrid cough for months...i think its time to invest in a respirator. gonna play around and end up with copd oe something crazy like that...fine dust from scroll saw and sanding on my lathe with no dust collection system is catching up with me. so the good respirators that have the 2 filters...they seem to be dust/fumes...how often do you guys change your filters?
  19. I am in love with this saw!!!! wow the control is insane!

  21. Got here last night got it put together...wow this saw is a lot bigger than the one i was using. Not sure if i like the stand or not. will need a stool in order to sit at it. Fired it up and made some random cuts...wow..this saw is so quietband smooth. found myself going to far into corners..guess just like everything else there is a learning curve to how the machine runs. wish i didnt have to go to work today :( Haha
  22. thats what i am hoping for. Looking at what i have done on the ryobi and the vibration and tempermental nature of that saw. i am excited to see what i can do with the dewalt. im sure my wife has some elaborate things she wants cut for her sunday school classroom..lol.
