Well... after this post I think I'm finally understanding what your trying to work with.. and I do see it maybe working.. I do believe you'll need a dimple in the material to be drilled though otherwise you're not going to be able to keep that retractable center piece on center..

I agree with Dave.. The Pegas with those clamps make the saw much more user friendly in my opinion.. If I were to buy another new saw.. Pegas is where my money would go..

Okay.. well before spending money for a label maker.. mine wouldn't stick very well on the tubes.. so I ended up taping them on with scotch tape.. which worked very well.. but I wouldn't buy a label maker just to do this.. Just print or hand wright it on some strips of paper and tape it.. save money for more scrolling wood, LOL I also line mine up as you do.. but I have FD blades on the left side and Pegas on the right side..

Not sure if the lenses come out on the one I have or not.. But Bushton sells a mag light and they also sell a replacement 5" 3x lens.. somewhere when saw shopping I seen someone selling the mag light with 3x and 5x lens might have been when I was looking at Hegners site.. That wing cutter thing.... I don't know what brand or quality of one that I have but I'm not quite sure why I still have it around here... the thing I have makes a better piece of scrap metal than a tool... LOL How big a hole you thinking Ray? guessing like 4" if you're doing coasters.. I have a large hole saw kit.. and I've used it without the center drill.. with or without the drill.. it doesn't leave all that smooth of an edge..

How do you know what blade is what in those tubes? I don't see any markings in the tubes.. I have a little dymo label maker that I made up stickers so i know what blade tube is what...

Yes I paid $4500 but I got it on sale and with a free water cooled spindle.. the 4500 included the touch plate and two sets of router bits.. I saved about $1000 with the sale. The spindle is the way to go because the router motors are noisy and also get hot under a lot of use.. I've been watching videos on the V-carve software but half the stuff I'm lost on so I just need to set it up and play.. I learn better buy playing around.. plus.. not everyone making videos knows what they're doing either LOL.. I think I'm going to start out just making some text on signs etc.. and expand on that once i get my feet wet with running the thing..

Yeah, my plan is not to use this to replace the scroll saw or the work I do with the scroll saw.. but more to do work on this that isn't practical or even doable on the scroll saw... But this might be a while down the road.. I've gotta figure out how to turn this thing on... imagine there is more to learn after I find the power button too, LOL

Figured it’s a nice day and about time to start setting up my CNC . Gotta wait for a new work table to come in the mail that I just ordered. Was going to build one but read these are fussy about having a good flat solid surface to set on. Table is 10 days out so now back to waiting lol.

If I want to just draw a circle I use a compass.. found it in the school parking lot when dropping my kid off.. tried to find it's rightful owner with no luck.. so it's mine now.. been about 4 years and still using the pencil that was supplied in it.. guess I got a deal on this one.. but after having it.. I'd be lost without one now.. though I do my clock circles in inkscape these days.. but I started off printing side views of cars and then hand writing the name of the car at the bottom and drawing the spot with the clock with the compass, LOL... I'm getting better with inkscape these days..

I had issues with the thumb screws on mine.. but I don't know if it was me or the thumb screw.. I didn't like the design of the wing on the set I got as it was a bigger wing and smooth.. I traded the screws from the ones on my Dewalt. and haven't had any issues since then.. I like the little ridges or textured wing on the thumb screws not so much as for gripping power just they have a better more comfortable feel.. that I was used to.. I read on another forum that someone had some issues with the thumb screw wearing out.. so they contacted QTE and they sent him new thumb screws no charge...maybe there was a bad batch of them? Not sure..

If you already have a Dremel.. this is the way to go for drilling holes..

I've only had this for a short time.. since I got it just this week.. The first day i used it I didn't have the little drill chuck so I could only use the larger 1/8" ? bit that came with my WEN / Dremel kit.. My experience with the bigger bit drilling in 5/8" cherry was.. lack of power from the WEN and when I crank up the speed.. still lack of power but also smoking / burning through the wood.. I was really worried about how it'd perform once I received the drill chuck for it.. That chuck came in the mail the next day so I installed that.. put a number 56 drill in it ( I mostly use 56-60 ) and it worked awesome... However... and I don't know if this is the tool itself OR the drill chuck or bit.. but the bit was not spinning completely smooth and wobble free.. so lining up the bit to the precise spot to drill was a bit of a challenge.. The drill chuck I bought was very stiff moving and I had to spray some WD-40 on it to get the chucks to move nice and smooth.. so very possible that this is not clamping down on the bit evenly as it should.. Once I barely touch the bit down ( very carefully ) it seems smooth.. and only the last 1/4" of the bit looks like it's wobbling.. so I need to play around with it and see exactly where the issue is.. Maybe too much run out on the WEN tool.. Steve Good did a review of the WEN and mentioned this was an issue with them.. I'm kinda used to using a wobbly drill since my drill press is quite sloppy too so I was able to use it as is.. My limited use so far.... I love the set up.. very convenient and portable.. and IF I find that it's the WEN issue.. it's worth every penny to me to buy a higher end Dremel.. One thing also to note... The power cord on the WEN isn't all that long.. and having the cord coming out on the top end of the set up.. the weight of the cord drooping down and having to keep it out of my way.. I may look into the cordless Dremel.. I think it would make it more portable.. not sure how the power of the cordless ones are.. Might be a peeve of mine but I hate power cords and having to be by an outlet etc.. just my opinion but I'm thinking the cordless would be way more user friendly.. Something else that could be really useful ( maybe ) is a laser light to point where the drill is going to be.. But I'm sure it's just that I'm new to using it and lining up the bit with where you want to drill will come easier with practice..

The saw has a dust port and does suck the dust downward through the holes on the table.. But I shut off the Vac when I video because of the noise.. assuming nobody wants to hear that.. I also have a box fan with a furnace filter that I kept on during the video mainly because the saw is louder than the fan.. and that fan / filter helps a lot.. Thank you for commenting.. I don't never know whether to do anymore videos or not sometimes.. it seems I get mixed reviews about it.. I do this angle because who wants to watch a person sitting in a stool spinning a board around not knowing what they are really doing.. then after every cut.. the person holds up the board so you can see what they did for that 5 minutes spinning the board, .. I think people want to see what is actually happening.. I watch the videos I make and sometimes I learn things I'm doing wrong while cutting.. watching it slow motion one can learn a lot too.. but.. not learn a darn thing watching a person sitting spinning the board that you cannot see .. I need to do a project that requires the use of spiral blades again and show how I cut with those.. I've had people asking for that one.. I just don't use spirals very often..I'll for sure mess up staying on the lines with those.. but that's art of the " Handmade "

I change the grain direction on projects according to the project at hand.. something I have noticed is.. what I see in the wood grain is not seen by others.. and sometimes it just takes some imagination to understand what the artist is seeing or has seen in a project.. I very seldom just throw the patterns on the wood just to get more pieces from that board.. However... I also don't just throw away a board because it's grain is running the wrong direction either.. though I try to make every piece have a meaningful look.. it isn't always possible unless I'm willing to burn a wheel barrel full of usable wood every month because the grain doesn't go with the piece exactly as I think it should.. 99% of the customers don't care what way the grain goes.. they're buying the cut design.. not the artistic grain texture.. Every piece I make has some sort of meaningful grain design that I try to incorporate in it.. when I ask all my friends and family what they see.. they just see the design.. until I tell them what I see.. These sample pieces below.. I see the sun shining in the sky and the farm shadowed by the clouds.. The same thing with the bridge.. and the next one was a booboo as I wanted the star lit with the lighter color.. but it still works as the clock area can be considered the moon shining bright.. But then who the heck sees that besides me that places those patterns there that way.. so anyway.. I just wanted to clarify why I do things a certain way.. if we all did the same thing the same way etc it'd be a pretty boring world wouldn't it.. If people don't want to see the video.. I can stop posting them here.. just ask.. you're not hurting my feelings.. as for the FB posting.. they all seem to like it.. so I do it.. many newbies like to see the videos and the different methods of doing things.. I'd much rather watch someone do something rather than read about it.. The video I posted on FB has had 1500+ viewers in a 24 hour period.. so someone is watching them.. LOL

Like I said before, I’ve cut this one a lot. This picture I laid out this mornings cutting. I put about 3.5 hours on the Excalibur this morning and this picture is a direct result. Yeah 4 of the same one.
