I'd be curious about seeing one of these in person, LOL... The description states there are 756 lumens.... The LED replacements I buy are 1300 Lumens and 6000K color.. But.. really the amount of light is probably not as much an issue IF you have a good clear lens with a fair amount of light.. sometimes I feel my light is two bright.. so I have to close one eye to get only half the light as Ray said..

My wife told me about 2-3 weeks ago that they was going to be throwing a baby shower for a co-worker.. and that she wanted me to make something as a gift.. No problem..just let me know what and make sure to give me a few days.. This Monday she reminded me but didn't know what she wanted me to make.. then she went out and dug through my stuff to see if I might already have something made up.. which i do have a few things.. but nothing she wanted.. Last night laying in bed.. she said.. Oh.. the baby shower is tomorrow after work.. can you make one of the angels like you made for so and so two years ago? LOL Not to mention I had two orders that had to get done and in the mail today... Anyway.. I got it done and was able to deliver it to her work early this afternoon.. I always talk about how bad I hate those last minute people that order today thinking they can get it in the mail over night... But.. gotta say.. I love this customer.. Sue Mey Pattern.. Cut from Maple with a Oak and Mahogany base..

Yeah I have a dust collection system too.. and the dust boot for the spindle.. will take some time to get everything situated.. but I'll get there someday.. LOL

Yeah, my clock selling kinda started with their patterns too.. and.. many of the clocks I sell is their patterns.. I have nearly 130 clock patterns in the set I bought.. The set was supposedly their whole collection.. but I've been told it's not their whole collection but a good part of it.. I have all those basket patterns too.. plus some real intricate table top clocks.. and 3D portrait stuff.. collector plates about 100 or so of them.. LOL Lot and Lots of patterns.. many of them I want to cut.. but it's take a whole woods of trees to cut them all, LOL Best $50 I ever spent.. Not sure exactly how much the pattern set was really.. I know it was less than $100.. I almost didn't get it because they only gave a few samples of patterns.. but it was said it was the last chance before they closed up..

Always thought your work was professional grade.. and so you must be running professional grade equipment right, LOL Yeah I didn't see a smaller one on there either.. I think the smaller saws are getting harder to find.. I think when I was looking for one i checked out the kobalt.. and I almost bought that one.. but I was looking at the larger ones with the slide.. I use it to chop lumber down to size mostly.. and I get tired of having to flip the board to get all the way through on stuff that is wider than 6".. so I was looking at the sliders.. Still want one but I couldn't find one that was cheaper than the $8 switch that mine needed, LOL

Did a lot of cutting this week out in the shop trying to restock sold out inventory, but... always trying to ad some new inventory as well so I made these new ones too.. The Camaro was a custom order.. but I don't really like the design.. It looked great on paper.. but not so much in the wood..Anyone else ever find that to be true sometimes?

Well, I can't help with the 7-1/4 inch one.. I bought my Hitachi with laser beam about 15 years ago.. love that saw... thought I was going to have to buy a new one last summer as the power switch went out and it was a obsolete part.. happen to look up the part number and then somehow crossed it to a saw that is still using the same switch and ordered the switch.. back in business again LOL I bought mine as a refurb.. and got it here on this site.. have ordered my cordless drill and couple of palm sanders from them as well and all still going good.. Might want to take a look and see if they have anything you might be able to use.. didn't see that small of one.. but.. https://bigskytool.com/tools/saws/corded-tools-miter-saws.html

Well most all those patterns I have... and seem to be from the set that I have.. but the one I'm looking for isn't in any of them that I can see..
-
Anyone know if of anyplace selling the berry basket patterns? Someone messaged me on my website asking if I'd sell them a pattern.. Not doing that but I would send them where to go to get the pattern if I can find where they sell them if they do still sell them.. Pattern in question from my picture.. I bought the BIG 1800+ pattern download back around 2009 ish? when they was supposedly going out of business.. but after that I seen where someone was selling them again..

The CNC will probably make a much bigger mess in 10 minutes than a scroll saw could do in a couple days... The laser on the other hand.. that has to have a computer to operate it.... and the dust is probably a fire hazard.. so that machine is set up..upstairs. The CNC is supposed to be able to run off a flash / thumb drive..Those that do run a computer usually make an enclosure under the table.. I think..

I am getting excited and nervous at the same time, LOL... Not a cheap outfit to buy and no very little about using it.. When I bought it.. I thought I'd probably not use it much.. something I thought I'd use more is the stand alone Laser cutter I bought.. I unpacked that thing and there is sits.. powered up the machine once... never even fired the laser yet.. and it's still setting there doing nothing.. I hope to get some time to play around with both machines this summer.. also have a real busy summer plans for camping etc.. so.. who knows what will actually get done, LOL... I've tripled down the last few days building up some of my inventory that has been sold out since it's been getting warmer out.. Only sold out of about 64 clocks and nearly 80 different styles of ornaments.. plus I'll be making some that are low on stock.. I like to try to keep 20 of each style on hand for the ornaments.. and 2-3 each of the clocks.. and as many as 5 or better each of the popular selling clocks.. so I've got a few weeks work to get caught up... Momma always told me work before play.. so I think that means build up my inventory... then if time permits.. play with the CNC and laser machines My plan for the CNC was to make some signs and also do some inlay work.. the inlay work I want to do is with cutting boards.. also the laser may be used to do some engraving on the cutting boards.. but may also end up making some of my own logos to sign my work pieces with.. But.. who knows.. by the time I learn to run them... I may have changed my whole plan, LOL

I have three magnifier lights.. two are the same but one came with the used Hawk I bought.. I have no idea what brand or power the one is that came with my old Hawk.. But i think it's seems about the same power as the others I have.. This is the lights I bought.. https://www.menards.com/main/lighting-ceiling-fans/indoor-lighting/lamps/desk-lamps/patriot-lighting-reg-apollo-45-h-black-1-light-magnifier-desk-lamp/tb1306b/p-1444438446926-c-1531402259058.htm?tid=-4421764401651314458&ipos=1 Anyway.. the lens on the two I bought don't seem nearly as high quality.. I can see much better with the one that came with the Hawk.. though as I said.. I'm pretty sure they are the same power.. just the quality of lens is better on one over the others.. I see some really high priced magnifiers.. and have to wonder how good they are.. I wouldn't say a Harbor Freight unit is probably any different than the one I have.. but some of those higher priced units might be a much better quality lens.. I'd like to have some better lenses like the older one like I have with the unknown brand that came with the Hawk.. I'd be quite mad if I paid good money for one and it was no different than the cheapos I have.. The new ones all seem to be LED.. and that part isn't a big deal for me as I like a light that I can change a bulb in... many of the newer ones you just throw away and buy a new one.. while LED's are supposed to last a long time.. I've had LED's burn out way faster than they claim too.. so I'm not looking for a expensive magnifier that needs replaced every 2,3-6 years... If I were to pay nearly $200 for a LED magnifier light.. It better have either a replacement bulb or a 10 year warranty, LOL Anyone have those expensive high end lights? I'd like to hear some feedback.. Wish there was a place to look at them in person.. because.. I'd be sold on a higher end light provided it was built to a high end standard.. Just because it's expensive doesn't always mean it's a quality piece..

Well my CNC table came today.... I couldn't wait to get my orders cut so I could put it together.. LOL.. Got the table and most the bigger parts assembled..
-
And the first thing out of people mouths when they see work we do... " you must have a lot of patience to do that intricate work " yes I agree tremendous amounts to make pieces but not for waiting for a new toy / tool to arrive, LOL
-
I mount my light on a separate bench that doesn't touch the saw or stand at all... except my Hawks, LOL they have that hole in the accessory arm so I use it.. LOL but then.. that shaking doesn't seem to bother me or the bulbs so.. no need to make a mount separate from the saw.
-
That will be quite tricky.. LOL
-
Get what?

That's really cool.. Awesome work by Dave as always..
-
Well... after this post I think I'm finally understanding what your trying to work with.. and I do see it maybe working.. I do believe you'll need a dimple in the material to be drilled though otherwise you're not going to be able to keep that retractable center piece on center..
-
I agree with Dave.. The Pegas with those clamps make the saw much more user friendly in my opinion.. If I were to buy another new saw.. Pegas is where my money would go..
-
Well don't feel bad.. I thought the same thing until you just mentioned it..
-
Okay.. well before spending money for a label maker.. mine wouldn't stick very well on the tubes.. so I ended up taping them on with scotch tape.. which worked very well.. but I wouldn't buy a label maker just to do this.. Just print or hand wright it on some strips of paper and tape it.. save money for more scrolling wood, LOL I also line mine up as you do.. but I have FD blades on the left side and Pegas on the right side..

Not sure if the lenses come out on the one I have or not.. But Bushton sells a mag light and they also sell a replacement 5" 3x lens.. somewhere when saw shopping I seen someone selling the mag light with 3x and 5x lens might have been when I was looking at Hegners site.. Advancedmachinery.com ? Here is the lens from Bushton http://stores.bushtonhawkstore.com/3-diop-lens-for-mag-light/

That wing cutter thing.... I don't know what brand or quality of one that I have but I'm not quite sure why I still have it around here... the thing I have makes a better piece of scrap metal than a tool... LOL How big a hole you thinking Ray? guessing like 4" if you're doing coasters.. I have a large hole saw kit.. and I've used it without the center drill.. with or without the drill.. it doesn't leave all that smooth of an edge..
-
How do you know what blade is what in those tubes? I don't see any markings in the tubes.. I have a little dymo label maker that I made up stickers so i know what blade tube is what...
