  1. Good morning everyone, I have been in a 10 round, knockout fight with inkscape, and I am just about beat. I have deleted and reinstalled many times, and I still get the image that I will try to post. It is a RED X from corner to corner, I can erase it but I can't import anything. If anyone knows what the $%^&*is going on,can you please share it with us. Thank you all in advance. Rick
  2. I order most of my scrolling wood from them. The service is impeccable, the quality is great, and they will replace a damaged piece, I have never had a need to do that. The shipping to NY is a little high, but as it is said, "You get what you pay for" Rick
  3. I used Tru-Oil on the guitar I built about 4 year ago, and it still looks like new. GREAT STUFF!!! Rick
  4. WOW Thanks for sharing. Rick
  5. Once again, I THANK YOU all for trying to help me. While going through this process, I believe I hit the wrong button somewhere along the line (IMAGINE THAT???) Any how, I'm going to try one more thing before I throw in the towel, I am going to try to reinstall Inkscape to see if I can get it to behave. If that doesn't work, I will go back to my other hobbies, PULLING OUT MY FINGERNAILS USING CLAMSHELLS . Rick
  6. @don in brooklin on@Wichman Thanks for the quick reply from you both. Don, I did do the Open Recent, and only 2 of the 9 patterns are saved. I have no idea of what I did differently to the patterns that were not saved. I did name all 9 patterns, separately because we may want to print them out as needed. The reason for ordering these is to send any one of them to family & friends, 37 pieces. Wichman (sorry, I don't know your name) the lost files are not listed when the dialog box is selected. Since I have copies printed, can I just scan these in & try to save again. Thank you both for your help. Rick
  7. I spent a good deal of time working on some Chistmas patterns that my wife purchased on ETSY yesterday. They were two piece layered patterns that were received in a solid black format, and I didn't want to was all that ink. I was able to RED LINE the drawings and use a light colored fill and prepare the pge for printing. Thankfully, I printed befor I decided to save the images, because when I did assign a name to each pattern and chose "save as" from the drop down menu, my work appeard to be saved. I later when back to print another set of pages for our files AND guess what wasn't there. I went to Inkscape help, but that might as well have been written in MARTIAN, I couldn't make any sense of it and after a hugh amount of time I closed the file and decided my efforts were usless. Has this happened to any else, if you have a correction, would you please share it ??? Sorry for the long post. Rick

  11. I was also in the custom picture framing business. We had a frame shop and art gallery and did very well for 23 years, then the C word (COVID)popped up and you know the rest of th story. Anyway, we used 3M924 exclusively, and it was good, but only after you burnish it thoroughly, when applying mat boards to a valued piece of artwork, I also used Titebond2 on the mats. I didn't trust the tape. This is just a personal opinion, take it for what it is worth. Rick

  21. @jerry walters Hi Jerry, I built my router table more then 20 years ago, and it has served me well. I have 10 or 12 routers of various sizes, most are used in a very specific jig and I do use a bunch of them squezzed in the jaws of my B&D WORKMATE. Real easy to set up, but VERY MESSY, wood chips all over the place.
