  3. len, my drill press doesnt drill straight it likes to go off center so i use the larger one so i can turn it down and account for the side that is off center so itll be a bit fatter then a reg slim line pen...once i get an upgraded drill press i got a bunch of corian that is about 1/2 in wide that i want to get made into pens... but i guess u get what u pay for when it comes to tools...the bigger lathe is what i use to make canes.   5. Marshall, and Kevin, thanks guys.. yeah marshall, my wife loves the cruxification piece... sawtooth6 did a very good job on making the pattern. especially when you stand back from it, looks almost 3-d like Kevin.. will do coming soon

  7. well its been awhile since ive posted on here.. been really busy trying to get up some inventory to hopefully do a few craft fairs this year. already had a few orders. Hope yall are good... the original pattern maker is under each pic... either cut on birch or sandeply 1/4 inch

  11. The box pattern by Sue Mey pens are slim line, cedar, poplar, and fig, the fig and cedar was made from trees cut down at my aunts, portrait and cat portrait is newest order from a friend

  14. These are some turned angels that 180 in the 1 photo will be donated to a school for the kids to paint and take home. the other pic is of 20 for my wifes co worker friends and lastly is a kitty angel compound cut, pattern for it is by Diana Thompson... scroll saw inspiritations.com

  16. Brett, Travis, thanks for the comments, greatly appreciated... Travis, I am making them to sell on ebay until my 50 free auction listings end.. I am at 40 or so. then I will add them on etsy, which i already have a few there.. its a www.etsy.com/shop/turkeymtndesigns getting alot of lookers, but only sold 1 sycamore walking stick so far... thanks again guys

  18. Did this the last few days.. took an old porch wring and converted it to a bench for my aunt. she collects coca cola stuff and she wanted the sign to be part of it. legs are hickory logs wood is mostly cedar.

  20. Dan, In my opinion it turns well, just like yeloow poplar, specially if your gouges are sharp.... turns like butter... lame yes but eh.. lol good luck, post pic when u can thanks
  21. I shouldve made the handle thicker so it would be the size of the width of the cane, but i like it this way. im 6'4" and it fits me perfect
  22. this one is on ebay, if you want to see just copy paste the subject into ebays search finished with spar urethane 3 coats its about 39 inches long

  24. this is a yellow poplar cane, with a wolf cane topper, also in pic, a squirell siting on my phone, pattern for squirrel from steve good
  25. Travis, thanks, yeah pic doesnt do it justice, I can only turn up to 41 inches, and has to be pretty straight. I am working on a yellow poplar one now, just got done rough cutting it. should be finished tomorrow.. will post pic I would love to make custom canes,etc, i sold a sycamore walking stick on ebay 2 weeks ago, but these canes are a bit more indepth in detailing. Now for the big question, how much should i charge. ughhh thinking about pricing really screws my brain up lol thanks again for the comment, Jim
