  2. wolf, yes its green wood, made it for as an order for my brother he saw the first one and wanted it, but no one gets my firsts so i made him the taller one
  3. Made the smaller one yesterday, the taller one today, both out of oak, from the tree branch that fell in yard

  5. i think the bowl is maple, used a 3/8 inch bowl gouge had to glue 2 pieces of thick wood so i could get the depth i wanted inside pens are walnut and im not sure what the other is Jim

Travis, hey there, ltnt, how ya been? yeah just called a friend today and we will be borrowing a chainsaw to cut the tree up... big job, but dam that be alot of oak ill have for the future.. we really got lucky last night, had tornadoes east of us, just a few miles tho,,, in town got hit pretty hard too.. was told that the top floor of one of our hospitals the windows blew out. ttyl Jim
  9. we have been hit pretty hard the last couple days, from Alabama Tennessee, Georgia, the photo is in our front yard a huge branch from the tree either snapped with the wind, or got struck by lightning. another 5 feet or so, it would have hit the house, its touching the porch now, now for the fun part.. cutting it up Jim

  11. made these the last few days whimsical pets wall rack pattern designer John A. Nelson SSWC issue 41 on plywood stained in dark oak original pattern has 5, i messed it it, so i cut the 5th one off I am busier my own design, beaver on log came from wikimedia commons website wild kid zone pattern by Steve Good

  13. cut this today, for pen blanks, but i cant find what kind of wood it is if you can help greatly appreciated,,, i went to hobbithouseinc.com and i cant find the similar piece. thanks Jim
  14. lol Chris, well with the pens i will be slowing down on, i am out of pen parts, but i got a few scrolling projects in the works, should post pics tomorrow. gotta wait til either this coming thursday or the 3rd to order more parts. thanks for the reply Jim
  15. made these today. 1 walnut, the other 2 im not sure of.. if yall can tell me what type of wood the lighter pens are.. be greatly appreciated,,, thanks Jim
  16. yeah Clayton, we went to the wood craft store in Chattanooga about a month ago, it was like 25-30 bucks for 10 slimline kits, so i am so glad i found these on ebay, just hope they keep them in stock til i get paid again so i can order 20 more. Jim

  18. made this pens yesterday, they are slim line, but i made them bigger, holds great in hand, writes very well, nice weight to them. Jim
  19. Marg, DW, lolololol yes i do sleep, but i am disabled, so i have alot of time on my hands. DW, yeah thats what we drink, is decaf coffee, another reason so much stuff is being done is we have a craft fair in may, (our first) so i want a lot of different things,

  21. made this yesterday, not sure of the wood, but i made it fatter so i can use a parting tool to put the decor on it.. i am starting to like making these type of pens

  23. hey all, thanks for all the replies, sorry i havent been on much, busy busy... clayton, yeah, i am liking the pens a little fatter then reg slim lines, not only does it handle better (for me) i can also put some designs on them.. with a wire or one i did yesterday i used a parting tool too make 3 indentations looks very cool, will post pic today sometime.. thanks again for all the replies Jim
  24. Been a busy week, made these three all from Steve Goods site. all cut on 3/4 pine pecan stained got a few more things ive been working on, almost ready, will post soon
  25. made this yesterday, finished it today, front white part is 1/2 inch plywood, backer is 1/4 hardwood. made it into a shape of an oblong circular blade.... to give it that weird look
