  1. When I demonstrate at the Sydney wood working show each year with my club, we cut simple three piece puzzles and give them to kids. This brings people over to look and see what we are doing, then hopefully they browse around and buy something. We find having a range a small/cheap items helps for that impulse buy too
  2. Congratulations Kevin, was great hearing you finally got into a craft show and even better that you made some sales. Your name will soon get around about the fine work you do and people will be coming to you for orders. Hope this is the start for a better year for you next year

  8. Very nice work, the blue background really sets it off
  9. Welcome the the Village, you have indeed found a nice and friendly scrolling community here. Sorry to here about your dramas with your saws in the past, hope you can find a solution to them. I have heard the Dewalt is a good saw if you can get a hold of one, there are a few adjustments you need to do once you get the saw, but after that its apparently smooth sailing

  15. Hey Jim, Do you currently have a graphic/photo-editing package? .ie. Photoshop Elements, CorelDraw or are you after a tutorial for one of the free packages out there .ie. GIMP?
  16. Great looking bowl, real nice effect with the ply
  17. I got a few patterns done, and organised my shed so I could get the saw setup so that I can actually do some cutting instead of just making patterns and thinking of cutting
  18. Thanks for all your hard work Travis, glad to see the Village is back, I was really missing it and starting the get withdrawal symptoms LOL

Welcome to the Village There are a few programs out there that will allow you to create patterns, none of them are 'EASY' they get you so far, you then need to edit the pattern etc to make it a workable pattern. I use Photoshop elements and have a basic tutorial at home that I could put up if needed that shows you how to go about making a pattern But if you go to the Village University you will find very good instructions on using GIMP and Inkscape http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=24
  22. Another site that may be of interest to you: http://www.mikestools.com/Delta-Scroll-Saw-Parts-Lists_2293.aspx
  23. Well its a good thing that the site is popular, but not for that additional cost. I hope the move works out well once you decide what you want to do. If theres anything I can do to help, let me know.
  24. Good news on the saw, hope it turns out a good one for you. I cant help with the foot control, but for blades, go talk to Mike: http://www.mikesworkshop.com/blades.htm
  25. Well done, number 8 had me stumped for a bit.
