  1. This is a hand drum called a Ashiko it's a Japanese style drum. It was hand made by a friend of mine here in Matthews , N.C. He has a website called RhythmHousedrums.com. I quit smoking cigarettes july 2008 after I lost my Aunt to cancer and my 8yr. old cousin Kylee found out she had Lymphoma which is a blood cancer. She is in remission now and that is great. Anyway I had my friend make the shell for me which is made out of Walnut aruond 25 individual slats glued together. I got it from him and wood burned the pictures on it before I put the head on it . I call it my Beat Cancer Drum. The picture of the Eagle is for my one year anniversary i quit smoking which you can see the dates in picture . The Dolphins are for my cousin Kylee because she loves dolphins and the Bear is for my aunt who loved Canada and bears. Ihave been involved with a organization called Drumstrong since 2007. Iwill be selling pictures at the annual event coming up in May and I would love for all the great people on here to check out this website and let me know what u think. I want to do some special pictures and auction them off at the event and donate all the money to the cause. It is a 24 hour drumcircle to raise money for cancer research. Please check it out and give me some feedback. The website is http://www.drumstrong.org. it is a great cause and i would love some of the talented pattern designers on here to make some patterns for me relating to drumstrong. Drumstrong has a facebook page also where you can get pictures or ideas . I have facebook also under Glenn Munson . Thanks for reading and let me know what u think Eagledrum70

  4. Kevin I am very impressed and appreciative for you sharing that with me and everybody else. It is touching not to sound to sappy to see that pattern cut like that . I know you have had some rough times here lately and it sounds like that picture might have put some enjoyment back in your life I hope so . That pattern was made just for you because you requested it and like I said I want to thank you very much for doing it and sharing it. Awesome , Awesome , Awesome Job ! Eagledrum70

  10. Glenn, all the humming birds are great. Sure would hate to choose just 1, so I guess I get them all. The ones that made the patterns for you did a fanstatic job, Thanks to you and all the other scroll saw village buddies. Your Mom
  11. Well I thought about using mating like in regular pictures but I found that that is to expensive. So what I did is went to Hobby Lobby and bought black and white poster board . That is what you see around the outside of the pictures . I cut the black a little smaller than the white so you get that white reveal . Eagledrum70
  12. Exactly what would you like to know ? I will be more than glad to tell you . That frame the Humming Birds are in I did with Poplar and stained them with Ebony . Poplar don't work to good with lighter stains , but that is my opinion. I do frames out of Cedar and Oak also. Cedar looks real good with wildlife pictures , western pictures and native american pictures . I like Oak because you can stain it a wide variety of colors. If you want to know anything else just ask . Eagledrum70
  13. Anytime Brett ! I appreciate you taking the time to privide me with a pattern . Like I said before you need to be advertising more then just keychains . You are very talented and it was my pleasure and honor to cut your pattern and I know my mom will Love it .Eagledrum70

  20. I wish I could slow down , But like I said things are picking up for me and if I stick with it I very well may be able to make this my fulltime job. I haven't been able to support my family very well the last year or so and it feels great to be making pictures and atleast right now making some extra money. Unfortunately all I have is time to work on pictures . I wish I had fulltime work but I don't and I have always wanted to start my own business.I truly believe finding scrollsaw village and all of the talented people on here such as yourself Oges has made me a better scroller and given me a chance at supporting my family my way. For that I thank you and all of the other scrollers here on the village . Thank you Thank You Thank You
  21. These are my first attempts on new Dewalt 788 . Man it is a nice saw but it's like learning how to scroll all over again. I got so use to my dremel 1680 bouncing and vibrating everywhere . The saw cuts so smooth and precise the first few cuts I made was a little tricky, but the more I cut with it I just Love the way it cuts. Eagledrum70
  22. Nice job Edward I Love it ! Eagledrum70
  23. Awesome job so far Malc can't wait to see completed project. Eagledrum70
  24. Welcome to the village Karen and sorry that you had to give up things you loved to do. Scrollsawing is a great thing and very therapeutic . It has been a hobby of mine for about 9yrs. ,but here the last or so i had to go on unemployment due to construction work not doing so hot and scrooling has become my bread and butter so to speak. Like Oges said check out tutorials on Gimp in Village university ,Travis did a great job and very easy to follow. I am a good example of that , I was using Coyote stencil shop until I trid Gimp and it changed my life . Once again welcome and dont be afraid to ask anything on here everyone is very friendly and will help anyway they can. Happy Scrolling , Eagledrum70
  25. This is a picture I did for my Mom Dot ! It is a picture of my moms sister Katherine , her nickname was Punk thats why the picture has punk on it. I did it for her for Christmas . The frame is some left over hardwood flooring from a job I did and it is Teak I believe. I just wanted to share it with everyone here on scrollsaw village , Thanks Eagledrum70
