  1. I'll file the bottom to a fine point and back of blade only when I don't want the pre drilled holes shown on certain fretwork items. A process I use when needed. Otherwise I wax my blades.

  23. I'm very particular when it comes to finishing. Most of my sanding is done with cabinet scrapers and depending what I'm working on I'll follow through as high as a 5 micron grit. Most will start with a 100 and follow through with 220, 320,400 and most times this is satisfactory prior to applying the finish. Others like myself will go further. So when it comes to sanding it depends on what you're satisfied with. There are no rules.
  24. Nicely designed and very well cut Sam. Being you used a plywood my choice wood be to air brush them white (seal wood prior to painting). And maybe emphasize the letters with a different colour (sealing with a clear polyurethane). If these were cut out of a hardwood such as walnut or etc. I would then finish them with a rub on polyurethane.
