Perfect solutions from Tom J. and Ron on this subject. What I do is this on my Excalibur and then I put painters tape over the tension knob to keep it at the same setting at all times. Haven't had to adjust it in over a year.

Wow! You did better than me when I used the spirals. They are nerve racking to use. Constantly have to keep every millimeter in focus as you are trying to control them. This wears a person out. Great job my friend!
