Need a little help understanding what's happening

To me what you are asking is hard to write an answer to. It is best shone in person or watch videos. There are all kinds of tutorials on Youtube if you search "scroll saw tutorials" and a few here in the "Articles" under the "Resource" tab. Others better at it will also respond here. Glad to have you join us. I'm sure some better at instructing will be with you shortly. -
How lucky I am. I have a bathroom right next to my heated work room. I know really nice, and my wife wants us to move.... maybe she wants to move, maybe I wasn't included...

I had an old Mark II or something like that, Harbor Freight drill press that had that type of locking ring on it. I love it also, worked great and very easy to set. Unfortunately my Jet I replaced it with has the type where you screw the two nuts up and down to set the depth. Some genius engineer developed that setup, that probably never used a drill press in his/her life!! Just saying......

I bet the only people that hasn't happen to or will not happen to sometime are people that do not scroll. I figure it is part of the hobby and if it can't be repaired, then I get to scroll it over.

@Dave Monk I hope you will keep us informed when you get the Pegas. I wish you lived close,,, maybe I could interest you in a lightly used Seyco saw. Been a long time since I have fired it up, I spend all my time in front of my Hegner.

That is a mighty "fine" picture. "Fine" as in very well done, and "fine" as in some very thin pieces. Great scrolling.

I saw a picture of this on Pinterest, and have spent several hours trying to find it's origin. I got a far back as a German site, about window template that bring about piece and harmony called rediscoversongs.com. I really had a hard time figuring what it was all about but it seems this was put up on a site by a person named Teresa Gibson. I do not know if she made the template or just posted it. Anyway, I made this using a picture of it. I did not have a real pattern. I think I am okay because I'm not going to sell this or the picture I got it from. I made it for a little Valentine present for my wife. She can hang it in the kitchen window.
