  1. Might try to contact this guy and let him see your videos. He knows scroll saws... http://www.scrollsaws.com/
  2. Will they fit is they are cut in halves first then glued together? I don't know it that makes any since. I was going to make these when that magazine came out, but never got to it. So I do not know of what I speak. Neat site to look at and get you enthused: https://www.airplantsupplyco.com/
  3. From reading the info on the site to buy the plans they are run by turning a crank. http://www.derekhugger.com/ I have been looking at the hummingbird plan for a long time. I would love to try but it is an expensive set of plans. At least for me. Then there is the problem of, like the crank organ I made, what so you do with it after the novelty and fun wears off, what do you do with it?
  4. His designs are really awesome. I like his hummingbird one the best.
  5. The certainly is well done. Great job.
  6. Some very well done projects.
  7. Explain to me how he cut the windows and doors on the pop up pieces??
  8. Very nice work on every one of them.
  9. Outstanding job! I love doing that kind of project. You really did a nice job of it.
  10. Darn, I can't see pictures!
  11. Brenda you really underestimate yourself. That is very well cut. I find letters the hardest to cut because misses and errors really show. I do not see any in you pieces.
  12. Well it looks like you won the battle. Very nicely cut. When things get too big for my saw I move to spiral blades. Some find them difficult to use, but with some practice they can be tamed.
  13. Not a problem, I saw a very recent thread on making urns and thought that is where you meant this response to be. I got confused thinking you were confused......
  14. @Rockytime I think you put this in the wrong thread. No discussions of urns here. Have another cup of coffee!
  15. Welcome to the Village. I know you will enjoy your stay.
  16. Really a nice cutting.
  17. Very correct, that is cool and beautiful.

  19. Just saw this yesterday. First time I have seen one for sale https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/tls/d/woodland-scroll-saw/6783616770.html You could take the belt to an auto parts store and see it they had one that would fit. Another option is to buy a link type belt and make it the size you need. Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you join us.
  20. I can not disagree with what has been stated, only I would make it more of an 8. It is a very doable pattern, however there are some delicate spots as mentioned. Before you start, if it were me, I would practice on some scrap wood, just making sharp turns and such. The pupil of the eyes would require great care. But if you really take you time, I think you could do it. There is a thread on here where people posted their first scroll saw projects. If you can find it, it might give you an idea of where people started. AND, Welcome to the Village.
  21. Clever! Well done.
  22. That is a very pretty piece. Great scrolling and finish.
  23. Not sure where to put this, but I need some advice. I notice there are some on here that at some time worked at picture matting and framing. This is an area I'd like to improve in this next year. I want to learn how to do the matting part. I have been looking on the internet, I see cutting tool and mats but I do not want to just buy and then find out I bought wrong. I'd appreciate some input on what is a good cutter for a do it yourself, home alone guy. I see the brand name "Logan" a lot for mat cutters,,, they any good and any recommendations for a hobby guy? I certainly do not need the most expensive, but not the cheap won't work one either... And, I see tool to stick thingies in frames to hold the picture in place. I have been using small nails, are there reasonably priced tool for this? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  24. Okay, my mistake was thinking I made a mistake. I went to my parts list for my saw, and part #8 says "bushing". I really don't know what the heck they really are, but I oil those thingys!!
  25. Okay, I am mistaken. I know you all find that very hard to believe, and I thought I had made it through 2018 without making one... BUT I was just working at my Hegner and I looked at the sticker on the top arm. It says oil bearings..... I do not know where I got the idea they were bushings.... Darn I was so close to a perfect year... Sorry!
