That is going to have to be a bench instead of a stool. That is a long name, poor little fellow will be 14 before he can spell all of that! Please do not take offense, I'm just joking. That is a great name. He will probably be called Finn most the time, that sounds adventurous.

From what I see those sell for a little over $2000. So if it is in good shape may be a good deal. You would want to be able to check it out thoroughly. I only have one Jet tool. It is a drill press. It does it's job. I can not run it at full speed, it sounds like it is going to fly apart if I do. Had I tried it at full speed when I first purchased it I would has sent it back. But I had it for some time before I wanted to drill something at that high of speed. The knobs on the handles for the raising lowering mechanism are GLUED on with some kind of icky glue the to this day is still seeping out and gets all over my hands. I thought that was really cheezy for an big , to me expensive, piece of equipment like that. But is has a Chuck that will close all the way so i can use tiny bits and it runs true and at up to 3/4 speed it runs nice smooth. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

That is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I am working on the 23rd Psalm. I finished all the text (that is a lot of text!) a day ago, now I start on the fretwork border. Mine hopefully is destined for a church my son attends in Memphis.

I do not understand the Pokemon stuff very well. I know my Grandson does. He always wants me to print out color pages of them when he is here. I wish I was talented enough to make him one like yours. That is a great job! You are very artistic with your scrolling and I love the detail you put in your work.

Great cutting. Have you laid the dark version on a light colored backboard? I really like the dark version, looks old an antique. Maybe a light colored aged backer would be nice, cut out the shape of the machine. Hang it on the door to the craft room?

Yes, and just to make sure we are talking the same thing here is the link to it. http://theartfactory.com/product/train-depot-clock/ Use to be it had a component package that made the lights flash, train whistle, chugging sound. Mr. Boehlman's wife put the components together and sometimes you had to wait a couple weeks extra to get it. The package also included the clock movement if I remember correctly. I wish I had followed through and got it all when available... hot darn! You snooze you lose....

On the red on I applied I painted the back surface of the ornament with"Titebond Quick & Thick Multi-Surface glue, laid it on the felt and put weight on it over night. The green on I sprayed the back with DURO All-Purpose Spray Adhesive, suppose to be a permanent bond. I don't know how well either is going to work long time but the felt seems to be well stuck. Using the spray was much easier than spreading the Titebond on.

How to go about "signing" your work?

I have an branding iron that is heated by torch. Like it, but it can be to big of a signature for some things. Like Flarud stated, it can be hit and miss, so what I did is when I had it heated just right, I branded a piece of veneer several times. Then I cut the veneer when I need a signature and glue it in place. It even looks nice, especially it the back of the project is painted. When I don't have enough room for the branding iron signature I use a sharpie, or it have a signature I can print off the computer, onto decal paper. Ply it where I want it and spray finish over it. Then I have a set of Steve Good's medallions that I really like. I haven't had a reason to use them yet, but I will. Then there are lots of time I forget all about a signature....... -
I finished the Christmas Bells that I am going to go hang on the door knobs some of my family members. The bottom two are Mahogany and the top three are BB, two sprayed with gold color paint and backed with felt. The other stained and painted. These were really fun. I will hopefully get started earlier next year and give to more people.
