  1. Great work!
  2. Not for him. His dad and he are drag racers. They have a drag racing car and restore cars and lots of stuff with cars. I am the odd ball wood worker.
  3. Thanks for the nice comments. This is a picture of my Nephew,,, I've posted it before but it still brings tears to my eyes. Doesn't it look like he needs some special love? It's all because I threw him in "The Duck Pond" when he was a little boy... We didn't have counseling for them back then.
  4. My suggestion is keep going you are doing great! That is really neat. I have got to give this inlay a try, after the holidays. It is neat. Great job. Dave and Jim are going to have competition!
  5. I saw this Steve Good pattern a few days ago and decided my Nephew needed it to hang in his garage. It is what I worked on during my great day of scrolling yesterday.
  6. You pump them out as fast as they come in!! Nice cutting.
  7. Liking that. Well done.
  8. Really well done.
  9. Really nice cuttings. That chipmunk inlay is really neat. I want to give that a try.
  10. You did a fine job on it. We all wonder off the line now and then. Just go back to the line gradually as possible so there are no abrupt wavers. Most time it won't even show.
  11. Very nicely done!
  12. Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene Yes of course exactly what I was thinking of,,, just came to me out of the blue....Did not require an internet search to look up what UHMW is.....
  13. I agree 100%. different saws, different blades!
  14. Yep, even though "men" don't read instruction, read the manual. The upper arm should be parallel to the table.... plus other important other things, stated in the manual which we read, when all else fails....
  15. Come on, you have to be younger than me,,,, earth is younger than me!!!!!!
  16. Ya, I do not remember that being an issure on my Ex. Just pushed it to the back of the clamp.
  17. I would use that white stuff, not plastic but kind like plastic, dang, can't think of the name of it. Used in cutting boards and it is on my table saw fence.... what the heck is the name..... I hate getting senile..... Someone will know. You find it used to make cutting boards among many other things, also, fact that is the cheapest way to buy it, buy a cutting board. I'll get back if it ever finds it's way back into my gray mush of a brain.
  18. Enjoy, my Ex is gone and I miss it!! I did not miss my DeWalt.
  19. Flying Dutchman has been my favorite brand of scroll saw blades for several years. A few months ago, people on forums started talking the Pegas "Modified Geometry" blades (I don't know what "modified Geometry" means, but there are a lot of things I don't know, I guess). I bought a sample pack of them to try, and found them too aggressive for the type of scrolling I like to do. Still I kept hearing about Pegas blades, so I ordered so of their other blades, "non- Modified Geometry" I guess. Got to say they started winning me over slow but sure. I have learned I use a larger size designation blade with Pegas than I did with FD, i.e., were I used a #2/0 FD, I prefer a #1 Pegas. I am pretty much sold on the Pegas blades now. I even like the "MG" one in size #3 and larger for thicker wood. I can't speak for the spirals yet. I love the FD 3/0 New Spiral, but I am going to try some of the Pegas ones to see if they have one I like as well. Hard for an old dog to be converted, but I do like their blades and I like the service from D&D Woodcrafts. I won't say it is better than I received from Mike's Workshop, but it is as good.
  20. Some more cute things. Great work.
  21. That is cute!
  22. Nice portraits. You also did great on the patterns.
  23. Kris that is an exceptionally beautiful, well done picture. What blade do you use on those tiny detail cuts...? I would use a 3/0 NS Flying Dutchman.
  24. Very well done name plate. I am far from an expert in finishing, but I think if you let it sit for several days maybe a week or so that either one well work. I have sprayed poly over several pieces that I dipped in MS/BLO, but I have always waited at least a week before I spayed it. Now please wait for other input, l am no expert.
  25. That did turn out nice! You are on your way.
