  1. Welcome to the forum. Hope you continue in your recovery process. I find scrolling therapeutic and relaxing. We are glad to have you here. I think you did a great job on the picture.
  2. So very glad you joined us.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Sorry about the saw, check it over very carefully and check alignments. Can't be good for a scroll saw. Hope all is well.
  4. Some very nice work.
  5. I like the cute little fellers.
  6. Glad to have you join us. What type of scrolling are you most interested in?
  7. Very very well done. Some one will be very happy if they receive that. The Wenge looks great.
  8. Very sorry to read about your dog. Sad times. I liked you videos. You so a good job of it. My feelings are not as strong as yours for the Hegner though. No doubt it is a workhorse, but i wish they would modernize it some and come up with a clamp system does not require a tool, and a upper arm that raises higher. If you ever get a chance to work on an Excalibur or DeWalt, you might think they are much more convenient. Coarse they will not last as long as the Hegner.
  9. Last time you or someone posted pictures of these birdhouses, I ordered some patterns. I have just got to try this. You did great on these.
  10. Really some great looking cuttings.
  11. Great piece. Maybe you should do a series of the Generals. Make a great collection for him......
  12. That's great info, Charley. Have you done this to your saw?
  13. He fell asleep, like he said!
  14. I also like the Cherry, but Popular is great to cut and you can find it with real interesting colors, Maple is also one of my favorites.
  15. Some work that definitely rates "bragging" rights! Great stuff. And, Welcome to the forum.
  16. Well done!
  17. That is really nice. You wife must be very happy with it even if it is a little late.
  18. I have not painted any scroll work, yet, but I use to make cigar box guitars and ukuleles and painted a lot of them. I would experience the "wrinkling" of the paint once and a while. Even when applying a second coat of the same paint. I never figured it out, other than the not letting the first coat completely dry before applying the second. But not sure that is really the cause because it did not always happen.
  19. I have it cut to manageable sizes at the place of purchase. Like three strips. That way I can safely cut them to the final sizes on my table saw when I get home.
  20. Very nice build.

    Not lazy

Great job, Ralph. Make an awesome planter. You used a draw knife. I have a couple and love to find reasons to use them.
  23. Great job! Very well done. I wish the gentleman was still making patterns. I understand why he is not, but he was a very talented pattern maker.
  24. Very nice!
  25. Great cutting. I had to work to read it, but I think it is more because of the picture lighting than the actual piece. Nothing wrong with dark with light background. Got to mix things up once in a while!
