  1. I have the Ridgid. Works great and have had no troubles with it over the past 7 - 8 years. If you buy it new, it comes with a lifetime warranty .
  2. I use the one made by iGuaging. Same size and functions as the Wixey . I do a lot of different angles and this makes it easy. Can move it to the scroll saw, drill press, table saw, band saw and works great for all of them. Here is the link for the Wixey Gauge at Amazon.
  3. Yes it will fade to brown, a dark brown at that. The green does the same thing. You might want to try Spar Urethane as it has UV protection properties. It will slow it down some what. It's a shame too, I have seen some really gorgeous tulip poplar with mixed colors.
  4. Sounds like the speed control board . If you just unboxed it then I would try a warranty service center. Mine started to do that towards the end of it's life.
  5. Really nice looking piece of wood. I'm jealous May have to look this guy up.
  6. The wife painted it. I'll relay your words to her. Thank you for the kind words.
  7. The wife wanted a welcome sign with hummingbirds. This is what I came up with.
  8. 1/16th through 5/8ths. I use an adapter for scrolling.
  9. Dave I just bought a new drill press. I got the Jet 716000 JWDP-12 Drill Press , variable speed and plenty of power to work with. I got mine from Zoro.com . They had the best price around. Might want to take a look at it, since you the seyco drill, you would need a large table. I really like mine.
  10. Looks like a nice drill press. Not very familiar with Grizzly. You would need to build a pretty big table to take advantage of the travel it offers.
  11. Here is a copy of the copy right laws and what is not protected by them. Hope this helps solve your question. Copy right laws and what is and is not protected by them.pdf
  12. When I ran out of it I tried several other brands. Elmers, Alenes, Gorilla Spray. They all did what they claimed, but had patterns lifting on me. Gorilla seemed to be worst for lifting although removing the pattern was super easy. Alenes held the best and had a good spray pattern to it. Elmers also did a pretty job. When Super 77 became availibe again I bought 4 cans . You could not find 45 either. I'm thinking Lowes discontinued it. They have very little listed on their web site dealing with 3M in the glue department. I have 2 Home depots very close to me. One stocks the 77 now and the other doesn't seem to. Strange
  13. Not sure how this would work out. Tried it different ways but this seems to be the best shot at it. If you cut it let us know how you make out.
  14. Sorry to hear this Kevin. I think you can replace just the bearing an sleeve but pressing it in and out of the aluminum would be a little tricky. I can understand you not wanting to put any more money in it. Best of luck with what ever you decide to do.
  15. The place I get my BB from hasn't had much of a price increase. Other sheet good, pine, oak, poplar and others have really taken on in price. A year ago I could get 4x8x3/4 sanded ply for $32 and some change. Not it is almost $65 for the same thing. Hoping these priced drop, I need to make some things for the shop, but at these prices it has been put on hold.
  16. I've seen plans somewhere for a jig that is hinged and holds the angled setting by tightening a wing nut or threaded knob. I think the used a friction hinge for the angle stop and regular butt hinges for the joint. Set the desired angle , mark you spot, center punch it to keep the bit from walking, drill the hole. If it gets to work out or used up, you only have to make the top to replace. Hope this helps.
  17. Nice job cutting them. I hope the train brings in good money for the cause.
  18. Depends on who you talk to. Some will say it is covid related. The mills slowed down then when covid hit, then every one was doing DIY around the house and the mills couldn't keep up, supply and demand. Others say it is the tariffs on imported goods. The US got a lot of wood from Canada and with the added tariffs it is not profitable enough. There are a few more things floating around and we all know what they say about rumors. To answer about hard wood. Yes it is up and still climbing. Hopefully things will get better and the prices will come back down.
  19. I have one piece left. It's about 8x15x1. Beautiful wood, want to get some more but it is cost prohibitive for now. It is fun to work with.
  20. I knew that. I purchased a mig welder and it was a Miller Machine as well as some other things. I really liked the tools and our sale person was a stand guy. I do not miss those days. Hard on the body especially after 45 years of it.
  21. Not sure who makes it. I have one with the Snap On name on it. It is a very brush, dual action and full adjustment and control.
  22. Awesome work.
  23. I was giving mine to a couple sisters for their horses. Can't use walnut, poison to the animals. I do keep some of different species for minor repairs etc. The rest now goes to a local mechanics shop for soaking up oil and stuff.
  24. Happy Easter Ray and your family.
