  1. Just wanted to let you know I posted the cuts I did for the pattern you made. It's in Bragging rights

      Birchbark

      Thanks!  I'll have a look

  2. I want to thank everyone who tried a pattern for this one for me. Russell I went with yours and it was a huge hit. He loved it!! I cut two, one for an autograph and one for Mr Pace to keep. He was very surprised. There's video of him signing it on my facebook page if anyone wants to see that. Courtys Scrollworks But long story short I can't say thank you enough to the amazing pattern makers in this group! You've come through for me on more than one occasion and always have top notch designs! Thank you again!
  3. Hey Russell, and for anyone else interested. The dimensions on the table are 21 inches long 11 inches wide (at the table top) 11 inches high. The sides to make the "tray" are an inch and a half. On this one the seats are seven inches wide but I did a second one where they're only around 5 wide and I moved the legs out to the very edge of the table top. This made it a lot more stable. The legs are cut on a 20 degree angle.
  4. I just kinda winged it on this. Let me check and I'll get back with you. I believe it's about 16 inches long.
  5. Ever since I saw the Meme about these I knew I needed to build one. (neighbors have chickens) Found a "new" pallet at my work that had only been used to bring in a large piece of equipment so was clean and fresh. And Voila! Chick-nic table!
  6. Take a gander at the one I just posted in bragging rights. It's a cross with the blue line flag over-layed. Nice piece for the devout officer.
  7. Saw one of these somewhere and thought "Hey I can make that." Love how it turned out.

    Ex 21

I've heard before that blade drift is caused by the blades being stamped out so all the teeth lean just a slight bit to one side. No idea if this is true but it makes sense. Used to drive me crazy when I started. Thought I was doing something wrong that I couldn't hold the piece straight on and cut a straight line.
  9. Ya'll are amazing as always!! Thank you so much! I will of course post a finished image! Thank you again this will be fantastic!
  10. Well darn! Thanks anyway. Wonderful cutting btw. Realized I forgot to mention that!
  11. I would love to get a copy of this pattern. I looked at his page but didn't find it. How can I purchase this pattern?
  12. Found a pattern for this photo awhile back and decided to use it to dust off my scroll saw. (it's been slacking lately) With everything going on I haven't had much time in the shop. Took a few hours but I think it turned out great.
  13. Hello all, been awhile since I've had to come begging but here I am again. In about a month I'm going to have the chance to meet Dominic Pace. He plays "the Gekko" on The Mandalorian series. Whenever I've had to chance to meet a celeb for an autograph I try to do a couple cuttings of their character. One for them to keep and one to get a signature on. They always seem very appreciative of the work and I'd like to continue that. So I come with hat in hand asking if anyone would like to try and pattern one of these for me. I know Sci Fi stuff can be weird but I truly appreciate all the effort that goes into these! Thank you in advance!!!
  14. I tried that and it worked great until the heat cured the top layer of resin faster than what was under it so the bubbles got stuck under the top layer. Either way I learned and it all turned out great!
  15. I think that's going to be my next resin project. He'll just have to provide the corks. That will take multiple layers of very thin coats to avoid bubbles though.
  16. It was a learning experience to say the least. I watched a ton of Youtube vids on it. Still screwed up the first pour and had to sand out multiple bubbles in the first one I did. I discovered that the middle board of the smaller piece (the one that says Fantesca) was extremely porous and the resin bubbled like crazy. I poured way too thick on that. Took my time and made small amounts for the second one, just barely enough to cover the surface each time. Rubbing each layer in while wearing rubber gloves until it was thick enough and hardened so that I could do a full pour without worrying about the wood sucking more of it up and creating more bubbles. All in all I'd do it again though, they were fantastic when done. The picture really doesn't do them justice.
  17. Very Beautiful piece!! Thanks for sharing!
  18. Not scroll saw work but wanted to brag a bit. Customer asked if I could make him some cutting boards using wooden wine crates that he had collected. Cut and put them together in a puzzle style. He didn't want them to actually cut on them but more to hold limes, and glasses and such. More as a serving tray I suppose. He asked for just clear coat but I was worried the lime juice would eat right through normal poly so I recessed the wine box boards about a quarter inch and filled it in with food safe resin. The backsides are usable as cutting boards. One is straight oak the other is oak and cherry alternating. All of the wood was reclaimed. Sizes are 18 by 24 and 14 by 18. The 18 by 24 is HEAVY!
  19. Some small thin ornament names for a family member. The font is called soulmate in microsoft word.
  20. Very well done! Nice work indeed!
  21. Customer asked for it to be painted black. Which I did, but I think it like the idea of a red backer much better. Just a little larger and the same outline as the cross.
  22. A new one I tried out.
  23. Very nice! That sloth is adorable!!
  24. Yes they did. I donated this one and ended up with orders for three more for the current coaches and athletic director!!!!
  25. I think they would love one for their favorite teams too! There were volleyball lines on the original as well but i couldn't think how to get the white lines mixed into the blue and make it look right. BTW I had to enlarge the signatures separate of the court as otherwise they would have been too small to cut out.
