  1. Thanks Travis, this will save some time.
  2. Welcome to the village. There is a wealth of information here and you will find a bunch of very helpful, friendly people as well.
  3. I have a Ryobi that I started with and used an aquarium pump for a long time works really well. I have a 500yr old Hawk that the bellows really works.
  4. I'm glad you are feeling better. The problem with the shot is the virus mutates so often/fast, that the shot you get this year would work better on last years virus.
  5. Well, after all..........nevermind.
  6. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
  7. Isn't Basswood to soft and fibrous ?
  8. I was a piece of cedar. The oak was white and worked good just too hard. My Hawk curt it but I don't like it much. Went to get some cherry today but wasn't wide enough and I donr fell like gluing it up so I got some poplar to try.
  9. I for one am grateful for his information and the time he took to help us out.
  10. Mine is so old I think the s/n is like 3
  11. I have been experimenting with some puzzles and had trouble with some chip outs do to the softness of the wood. So in my infinite wisdom thought Id try something. I got some 1" oak and started another puzzle. HA! I wont be doing that again soon. I got it done and it turned out nice but what a lot of work that was. I looked at the hardness scale and found oak in the 1300's. Guess I need to back down a few notches. To do this right you need a small blade and needless to say, I went through quite a few
  12. Hi Edward, The folks here have helped me more than I can tell you, and they still do. This is a learning process we all go through. I do other woodworking and try to make some money but it's tough unless you have an outlet and original ideas. I haven't had an original idea since 1969 and it wasn't a great one. Take your time and ask all the questions you want that's what got me going. Woodworking can be relaxing, I'm disabled as well and I can just lose myself in my work. Don't get frustrated it all takes time. Welcome to the village, and thank you for your service.
  13. That is a beautiful piece.
  14. Usually a venturi for creating vacuum requires air pressure so now you need an air compressor
  15. That was strange, anyway use the water soluble poly and thin it down, dip more than once.
