  1. Another great job. I agree with Paul you are one speedy scroller. Need my saw back going into with drawl.
  2. Nice job on the quail working on this one also. Mike sure has nice patterns.
  3. Try the Velcro strips. One on the back of your project and the other on the wall, they are easy to remove and leave no marks on the wall. I believe the ones I have were made by 3M. I do all portrait scrolling and have no problem holding a picture and frame on the wall and that's quite a bit of weight. Mike
  4. Looks like a great recycle Paul. Do I see a lion as the next cutting we see from you?
  5. Nicely done Steve.
  6. The 2/0 and 3/0 spirals from Mike are the only blades I use. Sure hope Teddy Bear will handle both.
  7. Nice job on the signs. Looks like that new saw is working great. Mike
  8. Nice looking signs.
  9. Good luck with your move. Hurry back. Mike
  10. The other day my Dewalt 788 started making knocking sounds that are getting worst. Started looking into Dewalt repair shops in Wisconsin. Most that I talked to would take my saw and ship it to Milwaukee. Luckily I found one just a couple towns away that fix them on site. Was told about 2 weeks turn around. So I'm sawless and not happy as I had just sold my RBI Hawk 220 3 weeks ago (because who needs 2 saws) Guess I'll get all those frame made that I'm behind on. I've been looking at the excaliber saw, How do you owners like yours? Mike
  11. Paul they will do the patterns either way I put them on my flash drive if they come on the computer.
  12. Thanks everyone for your feed back and Paul for the you tube clip. I have everything already so will eliminate the blue tape next cut and give it a try. Mike
  13. In a resent post I heard vinyl shelf paper mentioned as a backer for patterns. I use blue painters tape which works fine, but always looking to try something better. I was wondering how many of you use the shelf paper, where you purchase it and your thoughts on using it. Mike
  14. I have all my patterns made at Office Max They make them what ever size you want and quite reasonable. no taping them together.
  15. Super job Paul, you are a master.
  16. Paul Your moose is coming along nicely. Looks like the worst is done with all the grass out of the way. Can't wait to see it finished. Mike
  17. Nice job Dick, that's a fine house warming gift. Mike
  18. The only blades I use are Flying Dutchman 2\0and 3\0 spirals.
  19. Paul it doesn't take long for the hours to add up on Mike's patterns, much more detailed than Charlie's. Hang in there buddy you'll be happy with the end results. Mike
  20. With temps below 0 at night and daytime highs 5 to 15, the shop was a good place to be this past week. I did mother nature and Charlie Dearing's deer. I also started Mike Williams quail. Had about 8 hrs of scrolling done when I had a piece break out, so not sure what to do with it yet. May cut more in that area and see if it blends in or not. My wife says if you don't know its there you won't notice it, we'll see. I love scrolling, but I'm ready for spring and a change of pace. Thought I was going Kevin's direction this winter but health issues and doctor apps. screwed that up, maybe next winter. Mike

    Owls

Nice job Dan, the book marks are fun to make and great sellers. Several years ago I made some for all our friends and relatives. As they showed them around the requests came in. and for a while it was quite the business. Mine where not scrolled but were several layer of different types of wood glued up and sliced on the bandsaw. I found some nice tassels online and sold them for $3 @ .The most memorable sale was to a 4th grade teacher who gave one to all her students for Christmas 23 bookmarks in all with a good discount as I thought it was cool. Will have to try scrolling a few and then hide them before the word gets out. Mike

    5 owls

The owls are so cool, I really enjoy seeing your work well done.
  23. Beautiful job. I've also been considering this pattern. Paul lots of cuts on that moose pattern, if you are like me you'll need the lighted mag glass to see some of those tiny cuts. Good luck
  24. A couple of you wanted to see the Charles Deering once it was framed. This is it, frame is made of cedar and has a satin poly finish on it.
  25. Well done Paul. Nice cut. Are most of your cuttings done with 1/4"? Do you just single cut? I do all mine with 1/8" and stack at least 3 and sometimes 4 pcs. to help with blade control. I'm considering using 1/4" to cut down on number of finished portraits, they are starting to stack up, and I only want to frame so many.
