  1. Rusty here is what I worked on instead of the frames. Took the day off from cutting and did frames today. Will post them soon.
  2. When folks see my work, their 1st question as a rule is how long did it take you. My answer is I don't know, if I had to keep track of hours sawing the fun would be gone. The whisper would be gone and I'd be watching tv with the rest of them.
  3. I headed for the basement this am. with the intention of making a picture frame or two. Took a large insulated mug of coffee along and sat at my work bench day dreaming as we all do at times. I have a new pattern all taped up and drilled laying there on the bench waiting to be cut. Then I hear this small voice on the other side of the shop, "come play with me" I'm more fun than a table saw and router" it said. Well I thought I'll just scroll until I finish my coffee then whip those frames out. 5 hours later as I'm dumping my full mug of cold coffee down the sink, my wife says is my picture frame done? I didn't hear the saw running? Oh well I guess tomorrow is a picture frame making day. Will have to use some ear plugs so I can't hear that saw whispering .
  4. My set up is identical to Scrappile's . He turned me on to the resp-o-rator and it works great. I also have the shopvac air filter so the box fan doesn't have a filter, just blows the air across the saw and towards the shopvac unit
  5. Sorry this will make it easier than then trying to flip your monitor upside down.
  6. Some time ago I found this pattern online. Don't know who made it, but found it rather cool. I'm sure you have all heard the story about the lion and the mouse, where the mouse pulls the thorn from the lions foot. If you take this pattern and rotate it 180 you wind up with another pattern. I would like to do this cutting if I can find the pattern. Any help would be appreciated I've spent a fair amount of time looking, but maybe not under the right rock? Mike
  7. Ken its 11x16, that's the plywood size.
  8. I got the pattern from here www.facebook.com/oregonjibaroworkshop they have several more I plan to cut.
  9. Hi; I finished this a while ago and forgot to post it. Its a very nice free pattern, and turned out well. Thanks for looking. Mike
  10. Just finished this pattern. My wife loves it and is giving me just enough time to post it before I'm banished to the basement until the frame is finished. I'm guessing this one is for our wall. Mike
  11. I'm like Steve blue tape on top. 3M glue for pattern.
  12. Last year I ran across an ad on craig's list, that a local high school wood shop was cleaning house and getting rid of all their shorts $40 for a pickup truck load. It was mostly walnut, maple and cherry from 16" to 36" long and up to 8" wide. There was also a good bit of exotic wood There were 5 loads all together 1st come had pick, I was lucky to get there 1st and took 3 of the loads. Will be making boxes and lazy susans til the cows come home
  13. Well done Paul, I have this about 1/2 cut and then it got set to the side for another project. After seeing how well you make it look I'll have to get back to it. Thanks for showing it

    Wolves

Just finished the wolves, the pattern is one of Charles Dearing's. The frame is pine, which my brother will put stain and finish on before giving it to his wife for Christmas. She's a wolf fanatic so I hope she likes it. Mike
  19. Well done Kevin.
  20. I have 2 saws 220 RBI Hawk and a 788 DeWalt and bottom feed them both.
  21. Nice job on the snake, not to fond of them either. Also a big fan of the 3/0 spirals. Can't wait to see more of your work Mike
  22. Nicely done I like it. Mike
  23. Being new to the site I thought I'd post some more of my cuttings. I started scrolling because of one portrait cutting I saw that I really liked. After doing it and realizing I could do it I was hooked. Mike Williams and Charles Dearing are my favorite pattern makers. I give most of my stuff to family and friends, but have quite a pile of cuttings as I stack cut 4 at a time. I'm not interested in selling at craft fairs and take up my fishing time, so maybe will look for some charity auctions to donate to. Getting ready to cut Mike's new moose pattern. Thanks for looking and happy holidays to you all. Mike

    Clown

I'm new here so thought I'd show some of my cuttings. I first started scrolling when I saw a portrait on another woodworking site. After doing my first one I was hooked. I'm also trying my hand at 3d Christmas ornaments. I only use spiral blades with 3/0 flying Dutchman my favorite. Thanks for looking Mike
  25. A few days ago I asked for some help with a pattern. Paul was kind enough to work his magic for me. It still needs a frame, but will be ready when they stop by this weekend. Again thanks Paul, we are lucky to have you kind folks that help us, who can't even spell computer much less make a pattern. Mike
