Sorry Don I posted two pieces together, 1 was a Dearing pattern and the free one wasn't, Thanks for the help Dick, don't know why I didn't have Sam bookmarked but he is now. Also enjoy his patterns. Mike
Hi Guys;
I always keep a copy of the patterns that I cut, or at least thought I did. I cut this pair of cats and have had a request for another, but no pattern. I've looked but have not come across it. An help would be appreciated. Mike
I use an empty pill bottle that is about 4" tall, I've drilled a hole in the top and run a string thru and knotted it then tied it to my saw, if it gets knocked off I don't have to crawl around the floor to pick it up. Works great for me.
Nice job Paul. I love the slab wood it gives the elk a natural look. I just got a couple of slabs myself, but haven't done anything with them yet but after seeing your project I can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for showing us. Mike
Paul you did a super job on the Eagle. As far as trying to bleach the walnut I say leave it as is, you can't get it any better then what ma nature gave you to start with, it looks great without a finish. What is the next project? always look forward to seeing your work. Mike
I also enjoyed reading this post and the personal choice of blades. That being said, Hi I'm Mike and I'm a spiral-holic. I've tried to change my ways but am hooked on them. I like not having to spin the work piece around and they work for the type scrolling I do. I do use flat blade when doing word projects, but am not nearly as handy with them. All I can say is use what you enjoy cutting with and enjoy each others work on this site no matter the blade. Have great Holiday season. Mike
I just finished this wolf. I liked Scrappile's so much I had to have one. We discussed make some changes to the pattern, but not being a pattern maker did not come up with anything that looked better then the original so kept it as is. Thanks for looking Mike
I just finished this old mill pattern and swear I will never do it again. The siding on the building was so fragile I had to tape the already cut part together to keep it from flopping. I did have one piece brake out and was going to try to put a piece in, but wife says it an old building and could have siding missing, so not sure what I'll do yet. Time to start building frames again, thanks for looking. Mike
Fantastic job Jim. I wouldn't know where to start on pricing it, so much time and effort involved. It's why I don't sell any of my stuff, know idea what to charge, so I give them away to friends and loved one who appreciate them. Thanks for showing your amazing job. Mike
I've been working on this Eagle for some time. Have know idea how many hours in it, but its a bunch. Its cut in 1/2" oak and is the toughest pattern I've done so far. Think I will do an easier one next. Thanks for looking. Mike
Great job Dan, I like both of your cuttings, even thou you spelled Packers wrong LOL, sorry a little Wisconsin humor. The name and flower, butterfly plaque is amazing. Must learn to make patterns as my granddaughters would love that plaque.
