  2. Extremely well done.
  3. I like your horses very well. Way past my patience or abilities though!

Very well done! I am sure that a market for either is available! Lots of work.
  5. FANTASTIC! Good luck on the sale! If you get time make a few extras so they can take them ' "right NOW" we are an impatient species; and craft show junkies are among the worst for that!
  6. They said it all! I have to just AGREE!
  7. I think you did very fine job. It is easier to understand that plexiglass is a whole different kind of cutting if you have done it! All sorts of things go wrong that never happen in wood.

Very nicely done! Way too many tiny cuts for me to even attempt one like that!
  9. They are correct to my feeling too. But Dick is right about the wood looking like wood. I use a torching effect a lot , because it really brings out the grain of the wood. The lighter one on a darker wood background would look as good or even better than the all black background. Experiment a little with torching and you will like it. But remember it needs a clear finish of some kind or else, it will follow you around when you handle it.
  10. GREAT! Way past both my skill and patience levels I hope that you stack cut to get a little more for all of that work. Only 3 hours; it would have been 3 days for me! Also I would have needed some liquid throat conditioning just to relieve the fatigue!
  11. As usual a great job on a gorgeous pattern!

"I cannot imagine cutting that by hand. I can't even imagine doing it with a scroll saw. You've done an amazing job." Rockytime! He really summed it up with his statement

Neat, much better than real ones!

Made from scrap cedar, firewood and it appears to me to be redwood heart. Just laid-out on the board, drilled for blade insertion, then cut. No particular font, whatever the wood wanted when I started, is what it became. The bases are firewood; species unknown, but very hard. Lightly torched for grain enhancement, then a quick spray of polyurethane for a finish. Dollar Tree foam letters used for a scratch free base. These will be given to the grand-daughter.s friends that often play in the playground next door!
  15. Very nicely modified! Some of us are going to "borrow" your ideas for these; I am sure!
  16. Nice job Dick! But that is what we expect from you. I used to get patterns from coloring books. Garage sale coloring books-- even already colored- are a good source for all sorts of smaller patterns! Can be easily traced with carbon paper or scanned and resized easily.
  17. Agreed 100% !
  18. It is a dirty job; but, someone has to do it! Great toy construction! Realistic enough and still made "PLAYABLE" too!
  19. I like your wolf head on the log end. I very much like the live edges too. Nice work.
  20. There will be "people" like that everywhere; most of them are actually jealous of your abilities and everything else too. See if you can find something he is good at and compliment him, it might help! Th A.K. work is always fine and seeing that may be one of the triggers of his bad-attitude! Some people also expect everyone else to make them happy--NEVER learning that is a DO IT YOURSELF thing like going to the bathroom; nobody can do it for you!
  21. Luck2== As I modified almost everything; including the overall shape slightly! I was not trying to take "credit" the original was an artist unknown and unlabeled anyway! The changes were to the head shape, the mouth, the chest, the tail, the legs and the body! I added the eye, and even changed the shape of the ears too. All the cut-outs are my design too. The pointing the nose to the sky was the same general direction, even at a slightly different angle! I stand on my statement!
  22. Many sites that have signs actually NEED THAT same one! Much more truthful! Very well done!

They look like they should look like!
  24. Made from scrap 1/2" plywood and a little raiding of the firewood pile. (maple-I think) The pattern was a free clip art silhouette that I modified to be this guy. The changes were to the head shape, the mouth, the chest, the tail, the legs and the body! I added the eye, and even changed the shape of the ears too. All the cut-outs are my design too. By now I think I can call it my pattern. It is approximately 5 by 6-3/4 inches. The finish is a quick spray of polyurethane. The torching effect was done very lightly. As wolves/dogs seem to be well liked, I may try to sell some of these also. I do like the live edge for this too. It was fun to see what I could do to the pattern. Pricing advice will be appreciated too.
  25. A very unusual piece of great craftsmanship!
