  1. Welcome aboard Allen, I fairly new to both the site and scrolling myself and the folks hear have been willing to help and are friendly... I have had my saw for a couple of years myself and it has collected a lot of the wrong dust also ... I am still setting up shop now that I have moved and looking forward to making SAW dust.
  2. Welcome aboard Rich, Glad you are here and we are interested in seeing what you make (Pics ... Pics ... Pics). I pretty new to scrolling and have really made only a few things so far and they were just simple things - flat outlines like a very simple hat rack for my prospecting trailer of a mountain range near where I grew up in southern AZ. All my hobbies were put on hold for the last couple years as moved to Minnesota and am just really getting settled again. I am interested to see what wall art you create as I am working on a couple ideas for my trailer and office. Again, welcome aboard ...
  3. Welcome aboard John, Glad you joined and I'm pretty much new to scrolling and always watch for pics of others work ... post some pics when you get any.
  4. Welcome aboard Paul, Glad you joined the group and there are a great bunch of folks here ... Happy new Year and add some pics of your work, shop, etc. we love to see them
  5. Welcome aboard Bill, As you can see, there are a great bunch of folks here!! Glad you are doing well and back into making sawdust ... I am a geographical transplant as well, me from Arizona and remain a Desert Rat at heart AND still wear bluejeans and a T-Shirt ... Well it was 11 degrees below zero this morning and I wore a jacket over my T-Shirt. Welcome again ....
  6. Hi Gregory, Welcome to the site!! I love this site and the wide geographical footstep it covers I have looked into 3-D Animal patterns a bit for my whirligig patterns and have ended up making my own from downloaded animal pics, then resizing them to get matching sizes to the the two 2-D sides. However, with that said, I usually end up drawing in the loose edges. I really think the one's artistic talents grow as he/she continues to develop and create new ideas and plans. In addition, you might check wood carving sites for 3-D animal patterns/templates. Good luck and welcome aboard...

    Hi!

Hi Kevin, Welcome from Minnesota ... I recently joined myself and find the folks here great!! Happy holidays JC
  15. I have designed a couple of new new Whirligigs and played with a couple of ideas for the gigs ... artwork and major ideas are all roughed in on paper. Now, if I can get the rest of my tools dug out, set up and tweaked after the move from Arizona. I unpacked the scroll saw and see that the table has shifted ... I'll get it set up and see if something is broke, bent, or just needs adjustment ... So many things were damaged and or can't be found ... yet (movers) The drill press is in and needs to be bolted to the floor, the saw table is still wrapped, but is rolling, the dust collector still needs the piping run, and the list goes on ... I guess that is why the garage is now heated ... I can work in there when the temp is too cold outside. As soon as I have any pics and can figure out what and how to post, I will post some pics ... Happy season ti all ... JC
