  1. Zoe is a blue heeler. Her sire was a champion frisbee dog.
  2. This is my first attempt at Intarsia. Used jatoba, spalted maple, and red oak with a vinegar/steel wool wash to darken it. Finished with four coats of lacquer. Tried cutting the jatoba on the scroll saw but it's so dense I ended up using the band saw.
  3. Congrats Larry. We had our 51st last Christmas Eve. How the time flies! Larry B
  4. Best money I ever spent. More bang for the buck than any of the woodworking mags.
  5. Been there, done that!
  6. How in the world do you control a spiral blade like that? Mine has a mind of its own!

  8. Can you say, "Pro-lific"?
  9. Whirligigs are fun! http://www.google.com/search?q=whirligigs&client=safari&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=PUvpVN2HOYGngwTBuYDYBQ&ved=0CEMQ7Ak&biw=1024&bih=672
  10. Nicely done Jack. What size is it and what blade did you use?
  11. Had so much fun doing my first intersecting word art I decided to make one for each of my kids.
  12. Sure brings back memories of when I owned one of these. Nicely done. Larry
  13. This is my first cut from a pattern I made in Inkscape. A little rough but a good learning lesson. Made with1/4" birch plywood with a painted hardboard backer and oak frame. I used an Olson 5R blade. I'm continually amazed at the intricacy achieved by many of you and hope to improve with time. Larry
  14. Thanks Steve. I found it finally and installed the program. Went back and forth with the video and got my first intersection done. The next few went amazingly faster. Guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! I'll post some pics when I have time to cut 'em out.
  15. Steve, I know I saw this tutorial yesterday about intersecting wordart but I can't seem to find it today. Can you point me in the right direction? Larry
  16. Looks great and nicely framed. Keep it up. I'm just starting too. Larry
  17. Nice lookin' piece. Got my vote!
  18. I attached my Craftsman saw to a board that I clamp to my bench when I'm using it. It has blade holders and a magnifying lamp attached to it too. When I need the workbench for bigger projects I just remove the board with the saw attached. I'll try to include a url to show it. https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfa1/t31.0-8/10861002_10204794502155952_1943851159307903355_o.jpg
  19. The backer is just left over hardboard painted black, Roly. How's the weather across the pond? L.
  20. Thanks for the heads up on MDF. I have used it before but don't have any for scrolling. The guitar player is out of 3/4" plywood I had left over. Found the pattern for free download at: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/02/guitar-player.html Larry
  21. Well, I decided for my 2nd project to tackle a guitar player for my son who handles his axe quite well. Took about 2 hours to cut it out. I'm beginning to get the feel of the tight turns now. May try to work on a Willys truck for my son-in-law next.
  22. Yep, my son-in-law has already requested one. As to the "roast" we've got one in the crock pot right now for supper. Did you smell it ll the way down there?
  23. It's on my to-do list! lol. I've stumbled over it long enuf. Brought it in out of the snow we haven't had.
  24. Hmmm, tried to find the Ancestory font in Word 2007 and it wasn't there. Also couldn't seem to find it at Microsoft. So I downloaded it from this site if anyone else wants it. http://www.fontpark.net/en/font/ancestory-sf/# Larry
  25. Neat plaque, Edward. I read that you didn't use a router for the relief but cut the top layer at 4 degrees, right. Cool way to do it. Larry
