  1. I really like the way cherry cuts, and i love cutting butternut as well.
  2. thanks for all the suggestions. I'll give it a try and see what works. I think it may be that i'm tightening the screw too much since they are breaking near the ends. I'll let everyone know.
  3. I've been doing a lot of cutting of signs and ornaments and my go to blade tends to be a 3 or 5 FDUR. I have very few issues with these and they cut great. Recently i started trying to cut smaller more intricate work which require a smaller blade a #1 or 2/0. I can't seem to keep these blades on the saw without breaking for more than a minute. Most of the time they break when i turn on the machine. I'm using double stacked bb plywood so i know it's not the wood and like i said they break even before engaging the wood. I've tried taking the tension way down and that doesn't help either. Any input would be great Saw is a porter cable
  4. These are Diane Thompson patterns. I just ordered a set I think it was 7.95
  5. Very nice. I really like the faith hope love.
  6. Looks great. Love the train
  7. I'd be afraid of the laminate flooring because of the chemicals (formaldehyde etc) in the composition, but I think i'll give the real hardwood a try.
  8. Just wondering if any one has tried cutting hardwood flooring. The thin stuffthey sell at the big stores
  9. Very nice. It's funny because we turned our tv off about a year and a hafl ago and don't miss it. At first I tried learning to play the guitar, but that didn't work. The scroll sawing has done much better.
  10. I ended up using an old vinyl record with the small hole clamped to the table and it worked great.
  11. No the problem is the large hole in the center is covered with a plastic plate which is not level with the table. When I run small projects on there the project tilts a few degrees and doesn't run properly. No problems with tension or blade size.
  12. tried the packing tape that helped some. I'll try some of the other suggestions. Thanks. I think your right though it needs to be zero clearance with the table just have to figure the best way.
  13. I'm having trouble cutting small objects on the saw because i'm getting torque from the hole in the center of the scroll saw table and the table not being even. Any suggestions?
  14. Show was great. Was able to see Carol Rothman do a presentation on bowls, Judy Gale Roberts on Intarsia, and Rolf Beauttenmuller do advanced scrolling, his clocks are amazing. They had great deals on the books and magazines and we went home with a bagful, plus a lot of new information. Can't wait to go again.
  15. Can't wait, my son and I are looking forward to it. He's going for the lathe turning and i'm going for the scroll sawing. My wife plans to spend the day at the wool and quilt shops throughout the area. Should be a great day(SATurday).
  16. I just started scrolling about 2 months ago and this past weekend I gave away a couple of intersecting wordart plaques. These people then showed them off on facebook and I now have a bunch of orders. I was wondering what the going rate, or a fair price is for these would be. I was thinking roughly 1.50 per letter. Does this sound fair. Most plaques would be $20-$30.
