  1. Both are great looking pieces but the antlers are just too cool. That looks like something that I would have at a wedding.
  2. I don't care if the look like me. Great looking pups.
  3. Looks cool. I never used much manufactured woods. I live in the Hardwood capital of the world and everything is really cheap. I have always loved solid hardwoods.
  4. Jerry I tend to agree that we sometimes try to substitute better tools for lack of experience and skills. The only way to improve on skills is to practice and get experience. I can bend a nail just as well with a 3 dollar harbor freight hammer as I can with a 40 dollar eastwing. I can overhaul an engine as well with my Stanley sockets and ratchets as I can with snap on tools. I agree that they wont last as long with constant daily use but they serve my needs just fine. Sometimes I think we are better off to start out with cheap tools and have some problems. Solving problems is the way that we learn. My first and only scroll saw is a Delta 40-540 and I have made some very nice projects with it. I agree that the blade changes and tensioning are a pain on some saws but they all do the same thing move a blade up and down.
  5. Might not be the greatest color but one heck of a good cut job.
  6. Can't help. Never had any experience with them. Sounds like a good idea though. I am another one that cant paint. I do well to draw a straight line with a ruler.
  7. Very beautiful work that you had. Glad you made a few bucks and had fun.
  8. Hickory does leach some color between a brown and green especially if it was not kiln dried. Hickory is a very heavy very very hard would but takes a beautiful finish.
  9. I have been wanting to cut that for my wife from some eastern red cedar or zebra wood. Very nice job on the cut.
  10. Hickory maybe. Hard to tell from a picture. Very nice job.
  11. You know I got to thinking about that today and it was bugging me. Guess I will be looking for a step pulley at the Flea Market. PS if it werent for spelling and wrighting grades I would have been a streight A student (LOL) my mother and all my teachers told me that I suck at spelling. Thank God for spell ckeck I don't have to carry a dictonary any more.
  12. I gave $35.00 for this one.
  13. I bought this the other day. Don't reall know why. Thought I would remount it and atach a reastat to make it variable speed. Lady that I got it from says that she thinks that it is early 1950s model and has the original motor and allen wrench. Couldn't find the owners manual though. Am I crazy???
  14. Worse part with pallett wood is it is not kiln dried. If you are going to use it invest in a moisture meter. They are reasonable in price now. Dont use anything over 12% moisture or it will warp and crack. You can always disasemble and stack the wood to dry.
  15. You are right. I was one of those who never exhaled.
  16. Very nice. I am with Merlin on the ornaments.
  17. Love it. Looks great and defiantly a really good idea.
  18. Gotta have one of those. Don't you love being from the south where things like that are normal.
  19. I love these. They look really great. I agree that is a great way to use scrap.
  20. Looks really good to me. I may do something similar for my grand kids for Christmas. Thanks for the idea.
  21. I first thought you were being funny about the butt joint.
  22. A Stash box. Everyone drops in their change when they come in each evening. It is saved to buy stash with. We had something similar when I was young. We all dropped our change in a 5 gallon wine jug. You can accumulate a chunk of change in a month. Great looking box.
  23. Very nice. Always good to remember the special needs children.
  24. It say; Man who take laxative can't be called hung chow. But really the box looks great.
