  1. They all came out great. There's a lot of cutting there. Those stars can be a pain to do. Well done.
  2. Now Dan, you gave me an idea there.
  3. Dave that is just beautiful. I wish I knew how to do that.how do you get that inlay so tight.
  4. Like everyone said, eyes are to big. I would probably drill the eyes but don,t go all the way through. Trail and error.
  5. Wow Randy, those are amazing. I would love to see you do them. You must have a lot of patience.
  6. That's a tough question Dave. I like them both but the red looks more for xmas.
  7. Thanks for the info. I have Danish oil to but never think of using it. Have to give it a try.
  8. Quick question. What is the combination of the BLO. I ran out but I forgot the mixture. I know it's 50% boiled linseed oil but what's the other part. I think it's acetone but not sure. Thanks. Ralph.
  9. Just finished this piece today. It's a Steve Goods pattern and it's about 18 inches tall. Made out of Walnut, Oak and Pine. I used a #3 blade on the whole thing. Debating weather to add a black backing on the statue part or leave it as is. I don't think Steve had a backer on his either.
  10. Thanks everyone for the compliments. I almost wasn't going to try it and I was going to buy one already made off of Scott but I said to myself, self if you can't do it you can always get one from Scott. LOL.
  11. Well I decided to give this a try. I was a little Leary but I did it anyway. I want to thank Scott for the idea and the pattern. I don't think it came out as good as Scotts. I'm giving this to my Grandson who just started taking Saxophone lessons. I hope he likes it. I made this out of pine so it would be easy to cut.I can see why Scott doesn't want to do to many of these. There a pain in the butt. Tough to follow the lines. I don't think I'll be doing any more of these. Thanks again Scott.
  12. Hi Scott, I can't seem to find a pattern for the saxophone. Is there any way I can get a copy from you. I would be willing to pay you for it. If not, I would like to buy one of your puzzles already made. Let me know. My email is [email protected] Ralph.
  13. Wow Scott, they came out great. My grandson just started playing the sax. He would love something like that. I'll have to see if I can get a pattern for that.
  14. Looks good. She should love it. I love the wood.
  15. I use all different brands. All seem to work fine for me.
  16. Wow Tony, it's amazing how you can make pens out of wood and make them so beautiful. That's a craft in it self.
  17. That came out great Rick. I'm so jealous. I wish I had the nerve to try something like that. It looks so complicated.
  18. Good for you Keven. Hopefully you can use most of that stuff.
  19. Dick, that looks finished to me already. You did great on that one.
  20. Boy Dan, your doing a great job on that wheel. Looks better than the original. You have some nice tools there that I can see in the pic. Nefinetly you need the right tool for the right job.
  21. I usually cut on the line from right to left. If I have a lot of detail I will cut to the right of the line to give the piece a little more stability. A lot depends on the pattern your cutting to.
  22. Dan, glad your up and running again. I know what it's like when my 788 went dow for over a week. That box is coming out great. Can't wait to see it finished.
  23. I think Amazon sells some puzzle books like that.
  24. Nice looking wheel. You got your work cut out for you there. I did a couple of wheels but not that big. I cut the angles at 22.5 degrees and that seem to make them fit pretty good. Trial and error. Good luck.
  25. Nice cutting. I think I like the red one to.
