  1. All the puzzles that I cut I used Tung oil from Watco, either one coat and a light coat of spray shellac or two coats of Tung oil, so far no complaints. I also tried Danish oil but I found that it took too long to dry, also it does not as good as Tung oil. P.S. The price went up because the trees used to make the oil got it by Hurricane Michael in Florida.
  2. I had this pattern for awhile and decided to give it a go. Purchased from Sheila Landry and since spring is coming I thought robins were appropriate.
  3. Glad you found this place, lot’s of friendly and knowledgeable people here, open a cold one and enjoy!
  4. I got mine at Amazon.com
  5. The reason mine cover the whole table is because my saw is only 16” not 20”
  6. I read the recommendation from Steve Good about this white magnetic board to put on the scrollsaw’s table. My saw that I bring with me in Florida had a bad table so I ordered this white board from Amazon, it has been on my table for 2 weeks now and I really like it, nice and smooth, slippery and the sawdust just flies right off. I would recommend this purchase.
  7. I just added the burn effect, I think it looks better.
  8. Yes you are correct sir.
  9. Made the box and the diffuser for my wife for Valentine, the hummingbird plaque is for a very good friend and the old man is just because I liked the pattern. I think I will get the torch to it. I just added the burn effect.
  10. Excellent work beautiful scenery, lot’s of patience but the result is fantastic.
  11. I used #3 FDUR it went pretty good
  12. My neighbor got herself a new dog, so after she told me the breed, I went to Iggy’s web site and of course he had the pattern. I found out that this breed is the national dog of Cuba, the breed is Havanese. Lot’s of fun to cut.
  13. You are right still in Panama City Beach but we can watch news from Canada.
  14. With all the snow and cold that we got at home, I decided to cut something appropriate. Modified pattern from Steve Wood. Enjoy
  15. I use Weldbond most of the time, it dried clear but you have to wipe the surplus if you want to stain or shellac. I apply it with a tooth pick or small brush for small items, good hold and easy to work with.
  16. One more on my do to list, great pattern, good conversation piece.
  17. Very nice I’m sure it will be well received, excellent choice of wood.
  18. The reason you were not on the site has been well explained, a picture is worth a thousand words. Excellent work Dick and again you have the patience of a saint.
  19. I would use at least 1/4” to 1/2” thick hard wood, like Cherry, oak, maple, walnut any type of hard wood with real high density fibre so they do not break easy. As far as blades FD or Pegas # 3 reverse so not much sanding on the back. I would start cutting the hollies first top and bottom and then the letters. If you have some problem staying on the lines, slow down the speed of the saw a little and most important DO NOT FORCE THE BLADE let it do the work. I hope this help and don’t be intimidated, you can always use part of the pattern on a piece of scrap wood. Go for it, you will have it mastered before long.
  20. These are my first 2 cuts of 2019. Since we are in Florida, my wife needs a napkins holder with a Florida motif, so I found one from Sue Mey. The other is fromSteve Good, I guess he got tired of winter and decide to make a spring/summer pattern, easy to cut, now will decide what kind of colors to apply.
  21. Hi Jess

Happy New Year and I hope this one is better than last year. Will let you decide when you want to get together, since you have more on the go than us. The only day that I’m committed is Tuesday (play golf) the rest we are open. Hope things are moving along and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

  22. Your wife has excellent taste and you did a great job with the project.
  23. From the front
  24. Since I am a “Snowbirds” from Canada in Florida, I purchased a mini torch from HF for $14.00 (butane) but at home I used a normal propane plumbing torch.
  25. Here is a picture of the project with the burned edges, no finish on it yet, thinking of a couple of cost of Danish oil? I also cut a few napkins holders to remind me of winter. LOL
