  1. Congrats on your inheritance. There is never too much shop room.
  2. Welcome to the Village Stoney. You'll find some great patterns and lots of advice, but you have to ask for it.

    Very nicely done Larry.
  4. My brother in law asked if I could make up some kind of Masonic Symbol for his lodge. This is my interpretation.
  5. Extremely well done Kris. Detailed to perfection. Your friend can enjoy this for years to come. I refer to this type of scroll work as a memory maker.
  6. Both are extremely well done but I like Chief Joseph White Bull the best. His facial expression almost shows contempt or a great deal of personal pride. A pattern I will add to my to do list. Thanks for sharing with the village.
  7. Try taking the twists out with a pair of pliers. If you can insert one end into the blade holder you can twist the other end with pliers and lock it in place. You can also get flat end spirals that do away with that problem. That's all I can think of trying.
  8. A little different, but I like it. Had the chance to buy the original oil painting of this but didn't have the cash at the time. Pattern is by Garnet Hall at Sawbird.com.
  9. Sorry, I had problems posting this.
  10. The pattern comes from Steve Good. It was published Aug. 6, 2013.
  11. Not a happy cat.
  12. Thanks Steve and Wayne for clearing this up for me. It's on its way to my grand daughter, when I get it done.
  13. When cutting out the heavier lines of the pattern below, would you cut out the entire line or just make one pass? Thanks in advance citizens of the village.
  14. Found the speeds @ Rick's Scroll Saw. If anyone else is interested, they are as follows: 1 - 400 2 - 800 3 - 950 4 - 1100 5 - 1300 6 - 1450 7 - 1600 8 - 1750
  15. Wondering if anyone knows how many strokes per minute for the different speed settings on the Dewalt DW788? Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. Welcome to the Village Larry. You'll find lots of information, help and plans here for you. You're best to ask when you need advice. Everyone is willing to help.
  17. I used cool white in my shop. Find it a little harsh but quite a bit brighter. I use cool white LED for my scroll saw. The others seem to leave a yellow cast. These are just my preferences, you may prefer something else. The big box stores have comparison displays.
  18. I have a type 2 and never a problem with it. A great step up from my old Dremel.
  19. Excellent work. I refer to that as a memory maker.
  20. Greetings and welcome to the Village. Lots of great patterns here and everybody is most helpful, but you have to ask. Enjoy your stay.
  21. Thanks Katie and Scott. Your last sentences were what I was inquiring about mostly.
  22. Nice bit of humor, and a good pattern..
  23. The table is 90 degrees to the blade. Just some of the cuts were not 90 degrees to the top surface of the wood.
  24. I have come across a supplier for 1/8" Baltic Birch ply and would like to know which blade would be most recommended. On my last project some of the cuts were not at 90 degrees to the surface. What was I doing wrong? Thanks in advance to those who respond.
