  1. They both look fantastic. nice clean cutting too.
  2. Well, thanks to all you guys who gave me advice on cutting Corian, I was really struggling till then. The advice to use clear packing tape on the pattern worked the best. I knew about it when cutting wood but never even gave it a thought with Corian. Here is a picture if the cut item, it's just needing a good buff up and polish now. Thanks for the help guys Keith.
  3. I would just like to say a big thank you to all who replied. The most useful tip was to use clear packing tape on the pattern, I did this and also used a No3 Polar blade and it cut straight through with no melting together behind the blade and nice clean edges to the cuts. Thanks everyone (I will post picture in bragging rights when I have taken one) Keith
  4. I think "Bobscroll " got it right - Wow, excellent cutting there and so intricate too. it's perfect.
  5. Absolutely superb. excellent cutting too.
  6. Very nice cutting, very neat cuts and no wavy edges. Excellent piece of work. Keith.
  7. I have been trying to cut a word art pattern out of a piece of 12mm Corian (like a resin/plastic sheet used in kitchen worktops). I have been using Flying Dutchman blades, FD Polar No 1 which is the listed blade for Corian. I have turned the speed right down but it's still not clearing the cuttings from the cut and the cut is melting closed behind the blade. Has anyone any idea what I'm doing wrong? I have tried medium speed right down to slowest speed all with same effect. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks, Keith
  8. For a first attempt at making a pattern I think you did exceptionally well. As for your comment on one reply about the 5 O'clock shadow - the light is coming from the top right of the picture (you can see the reflection of the light) so the shadow is perfectly placed
  9. I would like to say a big thankyou to Don and Wayne for making two lovely patterns for me. I sent both patterns to my girlfriend and she chose the one she liked to remember the passing of her sister. Attached below is a picture of the finished Item. Thank you both again for the patterns. Keefie.
  10. Kevin, it doesn't matter if you have become slow at cutting out your patterns, you are still living up to your name "Amazing Kevin" because, as usual your work is excellent.
  11. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. Sadly taken from us too soon.

    Meercat

Firstly I would like to thank Mahendra for the fantastic Meercat pattern. Also to apologise to Mahendra for taking so long to cut the pattern after he went to all the trouble to make it for me. I had a fall at home which injured my shoulder and left me unable to do any cutting in the workshop. thankfully I can now get back to cutting again. The Meercat was cut from 4mm Birch ply and finished with 2 coats of sanding sealer and 2 coats of Lacquer. Hope you like the finished item. Keith.
  19. Thanks Kevin, but the last one I made I took to 5 craft fairs and it didn't sell. In the end it was a present for a good friend of mine in Spokane, he keeps it in pride of place above his mantlepiece
  20. Excellent work Marg, they look stunning. What do you use to add the colour? is it a stain or a paint
  21. Another project just finished. A Celtic Cross with Dragons. It is cut in Baltic Birch and finished with sanding sealer and a coat of cellulose lacquer. Hope you like it.
  22. That's awesome, you definitely haven't lost your touch creating patterns. And a very nice bit of cutting too. Excellent work.
