  1. Beautiful! dave
  2. Thank you for all your comments. I have become obsessed in a very short time with scrolling and using Inkscape. In my past I had a large shop where I built furniture and cabinets. It was a totally different type of work. Not much was actually done by hand. I probably am expecting too much to fast from myself. I have a Porter Cable Scroll saw. I have never been around any other Scroll Saw to see the difference. I'm sure they are like any other piece of equipment.....the more it cost the better it is. Again.....Thank you for the feed back, dave
  3. I don't know how I got the title "Pro Scroller". If anyone knows how I can change that please tell me. It is far from the truth. I would like to thank Paul for the pattern and Doug for the suggestion of putting the name on it. This is the second project I have made on my scroll saw. I can see I need a lot of practice, improvement and help. I made it out of 5/8 Cherry and finished it natural. I started out using a #5 Flying Dutchman Spiral blade. I think it looks OK where I used it but when I tried to go straight I had no luck at all so I switched to a #5 regular. I struggled with it also. I am not satisfied at all how my lettering and bow came out. It seemed like I could not cut straight at all. Is it the cherry wood, lack of experience, inexpensive saw or all of the above? Thanks for the suggestions. dave

  10. I've worked with wood a long time but new to scrolling. As thin and delicate as these projects are, do you have much problem with your projects warping? What can you do to prevent it? Thanks, dave

  16. Beautiful! Got my first spiral blades today. Tired them on some 3/4 Oak. It seemed like they left a rough cut and it was super slow going. Is that normal? Thanks, dave

  25. A guy I work with wife just had a baby so I thought I might make a gift. It will definitely be a few years before he can enjoy it. This is the first project I have made after purchasing some good blades. Prior to this I only had a few blades that came with my saw. Definitely a learning experience. I got into a problem because my spray finish was not compatible with the acrylic paint. I had to redo it. Thanks for all the help you all on this board have given me. dave
