    A guy I work with wife just had a baby so I thought I might make a gift. It will definitely be a few years before he can enjoy it. This is the first project I have made after purchasing some good blades. Prior to this I only had a few blades that came with my saw. Definitely a learning experience. I got into a problem because my spray finish was not compatible with the acrylic paint. I had to redo it. Thanks for all the help you all on this board have given me. dave

    Welcome Mike, I am also a newbie at scrolling. I also purchased a Porter Cable in December and am hooked. The plate around the blade that came on my saw sat too low so I made a new one out of Oak. It works a lot better. I am sure as much as I am enjoying it I will upgrade in the future. Since i finished this project I bought new blades on line and it is working a lot better. dave

    I am wanting to make a board puzzle with a child's name. I would think the letters should not fit real tight so the letters are easy to put in. Do you have any recommendation how I should do this or what type of blade to use? Thanks, dave
