I finished number two and hope to have the other three done by Veteran's Day, November 11th. One more to cut, one to glue p, and one to put the finish.

The fourth custom order of the Dog and Cat Puzzles. This is called "Treed Walker Puzzle" and the pattern is by Harvey Byler. I used 3/4" Poplar approximately 8" x 10". Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #5R MGT blades. The veining was with a #1R MGT blade. he finish is one dipping if a diluted Shellac solution.

After cutting, I sand with a Mac Mop to get rid of the fuzzies and round the edges slightly, dip in the solution and let dry over night, and sand lightly with the Mac Mop. It doesn't take all night to dry, but nothing else to do while sleeping.

Welcome to the Village forum from TN. That is strange about blade cost especially 30 years ago. No days, blades are less that 35cents

Funny Kevin. I use denatured Alcohol. I find that by dipping the pieces, it gets into all the little areas. Also, diluted dries quickly and does not affect the fit.

This is a custom order request. The pattern is by Harvey Byler purchased from WoodCraftByScott.com. I enlarged the pattern by 10%. Cut at home on the EX21 using FD UR #5 blades. The wood is Poplar approximately 7" x 9". Sanded with the Mac Mop and dipped in Shellac diluted 50% with alcohol. Comments welcome.

I am skipping Halloween and working on Veteran's Day. This is a Steve Good pattern dating back to 2010. I will have all five branches. The wood is 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and backed with 3/8" Baltic Birch plywood stained Azure with SameN stain. Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw at ArtCrafters using Pegas #1R MGT blades. The finish is 3 coats spray Polyurethane Clear Satin sanding with a Mac Mop between sprays
