  1. Thanks Melanie. I noticed you replied on the other forum also.
  2. Thanks for the nice comments. I was only going to stick with the eight, but decided to add to the patterns.
  3. Thanks for the nice comments. I also received a very nice comment on Facebook from Sue Mey. If you try and make them, there is a weak spot where the upright fits into the base. Be sure and not force together.
  4. Thanks for all the nice comments. I wasn't sure about the Ash, but when I applied the 50% BLO, the grain really popped with great color.
  5. Thanks for the nice comments.
  6. Thanks Jeff. I really like Jacob Fowler's patterns.
  7. Very nice gifts, DW.
  8. Wow, twelve! DW how much are you charging? Thanks Steve. There are six patterns and lots more scraps.
  9. Thanks, DW. I am really surprised how nice the Flame Maple looks.
  10. Thanks Larry. Fun to make. The Flame Maple was quite hard to cut.
  11. The pattern is by Sue Mey and found in the current issue of SWWC. I used 1/2" Hard Maple for the top and upright and 1 1/4" Walnut for the base. The blade used for all interior cuts was FD UR #3. The finish was 50% BLO and two coats of spray Polyurethane. The nice part was all the wood was just scraps. Comments welcome.
  12. The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in CWWC November 2012. I used a piece of Ash with very nice grain for the upright and Aspen for the base. It is approximately 9" high and 11" long. I used FD UR #1 for all interior cuts. The finish is 50% BLO and two coats of spray Shellac. Comments welcome.
  13. I purchased 15 new patterns from Diana Thompsons website. Several were duplicates, so I now have 20 patterns. These six were from the new patterns. I used Flame Maple for the birdhouses and Eastern Red Cedar for the birds. The Flame Maple turned out great. Comments welcome.

  19. Welcome to the forum from TN. Lots of friendly folks here.
  20. Kevx (Kevin) asked where I buy the contact paper. Sloan's has it in stock.
  21. I use the Mac Mop on every project. My 220 is about wore down to nothing.
  22. The smallest FD UR blade I use is #1. I would like to know too.
  23. Welcome to the forum from TN. I don't use painter tape. I print my patterns on contact paper. It peels off with a little work and there is no residue.
  24. Thanks for all the nice comments. Quite easy to make. The trick is to be sure each layer is correctly alligned when gluing. I glue two layers at a time.
  25. Thanks all.
