  1. Thanks for all the comments. Steve, the Red Oak was tough to cut, but looks great. Larry, the count is now 172 LOL.
  2. The display tree was empty, so I made six Miniature Birdhouses this weekend. The patterns are by Diana Thompson and purchased from her website. I used Red Oak and Eastern Red Cedar. The blades were FD Polar #5 and #9. The finish was 50% BLO. On one of the patterns, the top was too small to insert the screw eye, so I cut that portion off. Comments welcome.

  11. I have John Nelson's book and I use it as a teaching aid. By completing lessons, you can get a feel for all the capabilities of the scroll saw.

  13. Bryan, welcome to the forum from TN. What a great introduction. Getting your daughter involved sounds wonderful. My first saw was a Hitachi which I returned within a week. I bought a DW788 and still use it after 10 years. I also have an EX21 whch is now my go to saw. I would recommend the DW788.
