  1. Just restocked with FD which is why I voted for them. I use both Olson and FD. I screwed up when I first started and purchased some generic brand and regretted it.
  2. I only put packing tape over the intricate designs. California got rid of the spray adhesive that I liked. The stuff that they have now seems to not perform as well.
  3. I will add my vote to the top feeder. Occasionally I will bottom feed the blade, but I have a harder time putting the blade through the hole from the bottom than locking the blade in place in the bottom.
  4. Great job. I like the lighting you did.
  5. Great work. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I would create a template and use a ball cutter on a plunge router. I might also try just denting the wood with a small ball peen hammer. again template it out so it doesn't look like a bunch or random hits,
  7. Like the idea. much cleaner than my jumbled mess.
  8. Thank you for all the compliments.
  9. Looks great, thanks for sharing
  10. This past weekend I was finally able to finish some projects which have taken too long to complete. The fork lift and skid loader were requests from my kids. Too bad they are not getting them until Christmas. I showed them the plans back in July so they have been waiting a while. Blog posts will be completed shortly. The Project Surf Camp ornament was a request from my oldest son. He has participated the past couple of years. He has noticed that we pick up ornaments from our family vacations, so he requested a project surf camp ornament so "Santa Claus could know what he did this year." Not thrilled with the letters but I wasn't sure how to do the font like the logo. Just a little plug for Project surf Camp: they allow kids with disabilities to go into the ocean and surf for a day. They provide all the support and gear. It truly has been fun to watch and it obviously meant a lot to my son. Yoda, I did because I found a picture and did it. A fun quick project. Pretty sure the image is copyrighted so the ornament is not going anywhere. On the Project Surf Camp ornament, I used a spiral blade to cut out some of the letters. I thought I would have more control and an easier time with the tight corners. I don't know if I am sold on using them. I used a #2 Olsen and I felt like I was plow routing the piece and there was no way of getting a sharp corner. I also felt like I did not have as much control as I do with a normal blade. Am I using a spiral blade for the wrong purpose or does it take time to get use to?
  11. Great work.
  12. Great work, thanks for sharing your talent.
  13. I would put it in the sun to see if the cherry oxidizes to a more blended color if the contrast is a bother. Beautiful cutting.
  14. Thank you so much for the compliments. Now the kids get to put it to the test. They have been waiting for this one for a while.
  15. Great job. That is a lot of internal cuts. Keep up the good work.
  16. It has been a little while since I posted some of the things I have made. In part because summer has been to hot to get out in the garage and I needed to knock a few things off the honey do list. This is the latest project I completed. The design took a lot longer than I expected but I like how it turned out. I will post a little more detail on my blog later in the week.
  17. Nice job cutting. It is very well done. Once I knew what it said I could see the words. I would suggest making the letters follow the circle. I was thrown off by the N and the W. They are turned 90 degrees from the rest of the letters; the N looked like a Z and the W looked like a 3. Keep up the designing.
  18. They are beautiful. How do you get your inlays to match up so perfectly?
  19. That is a great idea. Looks great.
  20. Glad you have been busy, keep up the good work.
  21. I have learned a few things about stack cutting lately and I was having tear out problems. It wasn't the blade that was causing the issue, it was the drill bit. It would clog up and push the wood though. The hole would look clean but when the blade hit the sides of the hole it would remove the broken chips from around the hole. I would look at your drill bit if you are having trouble with your inside cuts. Make sure you clear the chips from the bit when drilling.
  22. Great cutting. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Amazing job. I love the lettering inside the lettering. That must have taken some time on the pattern.
  24. Thanks for sharing, I will have to check it out. Does it give you the angle to set you saw also?
