  1. I can't add to what has been said above, but I will confirm it. Make sure the blade is 90 degrees. I did a puzzle where the blade was just off. Some pieces fit in front and other fit in through the backr. Don't push the blade because it will bow the blade. I would suggest starting with 1/2" thick wood. It is a little more forgiving on blade deflection and if the blade is not perfect 90 degrees. I use a #5 blade on 3/4" and less material and a #7 blade on thicker stock. Puzzles are a great way to practice following a line. No one notices if there was blade drift.
  2. Great compound cutting. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Great job, congratulations.
  4. I use painters tape most of the time. it is easier to get the pattern on that way. The only time that I use packing tape is when I am doing fretwork. I have not figured out a good spray adhesive so the packing tape keeps the pattern from peeling away as I cut.
  5. Great design. It is very original.
  6. Ron, Great job, the inlay looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Very nice work. Like the inlay.
  9. Great job to both of you. They came out really nice.

  12. Great cutting. Thanks for sharing.
  13. That looks great. Amazing job with the pattern from the picture.
  14. Thanks for the tip.
  15. Whatever you do, test it on scrap first. I was doing a teacher gift where all the students signed a puzzle piece. I tested a couple of pens and finishes before so the signatures did not bleed/run when I put a coat of poly over it. Even then I only did a light coat.
  16. It happens on my work computer. The site might want to load some cookies for tracking purposes. My work has a pretty restrictive anti-virus, I cannot even look up butt hinges without it blocking me.
  17. Looks great, nice work.
  18. I have an air brush setup that I love. What you are making is too big to use an air bush on though. There are a lot of HVLP for paint and lacquer and I would research those. The cleaning can be a little bit time consuming but really isn't that bad. I finish large quantities at a time and between coats just run cleaner through it. I would also buy a separate gun for paint and lacquer. You really do not have to take the gun apart and clean every little thing. I do a deep clean of my gun about once a year.
  19. Well done. Thanks for sharing. Really love the feathers.
  20. Well done! Where did you find the nativity pattern? I my in-laws love to collect things like that.
